JAX Tyres & Auto Mitchelton

Jax Tyres are a discount tyre chain with stores located throughout the Brisbane suburbs. I needed a new set of tyres for my VW LWB Crafter and did the usual price comparisons with various brands and tyre stores. I was looking for the best combination of value for money in a known brand of tyre that ticked all the boxes. Jax won hands down with a saving of $275 on a set of 4 Hancook light truck tyres fitted and balanced. They, unlike their competition did a 4th tyre free deal for me. While the other tyre chains do these type of deals on car tyres, they do not do the same with truck tyres so I was pretty happy with the deal Jax gave me.I visited the Mitchelton store. Photos attached. It was easy to locate, with plenty of parking, spacious waiting area with all amenities provided. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I was pretty satisfied with the service they provided and the time taken to do the work. Jax also offer various member benefit deals and programs. This store adheres to Covid 19 protocols.Because of the dimensions of my particular vehicle, I was not able to get a wheel alignment performed here as Jax like most standard tyre stores do not have hoists for larger vans or light trucks that are over dimension. This is not a criticism and I was able to get this service done at Fulcum Stafford for a standard price of $60.

Very helpful team. I go there semi-often and they haven’t tried to overcharge or mislead me. I appreciate their honesty and good customer service.I had a nail in one of my tires. They checked it and since there was no actual leak of air, they didn’t charge me for their services.

Charged $ for new valves. No new valves installed. See photos.I’m no pro but look at the photos and tell me this is how weights should be fitted. Terrible job. Looks terrible. Makes the wheels look terrible. I feel ripped off. That $ could buy my kids an ice cream. Not much I know but they would love an ice cream with dad. You stole that.Has the ownership changed hands, because the last time I was there (pre-Covid) they were great. Put away the defence related letters of support on the coffee counter if you are not going to respect some of their values and standards. I’ll not take up your ‘up sell’ offer on the rotors and pads. Poor job Jax @ Mitchelton. Disappointed.

Incredibly rude front desk service. Told me my company cars back tyres were bald and couldn’t puncture repair. Totally understand that is illegal. I said that’s fine, obviously I was unaware they were bald and I will let my boss know. Was straight to be still rude and made the comment after saying “no tyre shop will touch the tyres” What, even to replace them? Also then didn’t even offer to buy new ones from his own store?I took the car to my mechanic and he showed me the tread wear indicator and that they were also still just legal. First time I’ve dealt with this guy on the front desk. I have lived local my whole life and been going here the past 5 years. Definitely won’t be going back or recommending this place from now on.

Great service and very professional people. I had a bad front wheel bearing and rear shocks replaced and the car is running smooth as butter again. Would definitely recommend then.

The guys at Jax Mitchelton did such a good job with a new set of tyres my car drives Iike it's brand new. Dropped off before work. Text saying it was done before lunch, picked up in the Arvo. Thanks guys
