A big thank you to Olive, Lawrence, Sylvia & Sophia for opening your home to us. We were welcomed and entertained from the moment we arrived.Monte Cristo has been on my bucket list for years and this amazing property didn't disappoint. The home itself has been restored beautifully and the history behind every room is both intriguing and terrifying. What an amazing night.I can't wait to visit again!

Great experience at the Monte Cristo homestead after wanting to visit since I was ten years old. I would love to go back and stay overnight sometime too but for now it was just a stop over on our way home.We explored the home and it was super cold in the servants quarters as well as the old cart stables. We got one live picture of a few orbs floating around which was weird and cool.Besides those new things it was a really nice stop over in a very historical building that I had known of most of my life, and always wanted to visit. So it was nice to finally do that.

The owners of this Homestead have done an amazing job of curating quite a collection of antiques and objects. Whilst we didnt see or hear a ghost during our visit, the ambience is definately quite unusual. We went during the day, I can imagine it would be atmospheric at night! The owner gave a talk when we purchased our tickets and entered the grounds, he provided us with a map which detailed the main house and surrounding grounds. Very interesting!

I really enjoyed taking a look around and learning a bit of local history. The ladies in the front office were lovely. Lots of interesting things to look at and the revamped homestead is spectacular.

An amazing part of Australian history. So many pieces show the history and timestamp to this house. The struggles and gamble the original owners made to settle and live there are incredible. The place has a ghost history, but I didn't experience anything. I also think the ghostly photos in the reception area were taken by someone who held a cigarette in their fingers whilst pressing the button. Those ghostly smoke trails are more like a burning Marlboro drifting across the lens. It would be good to see less Halloween style gimmicks around the old mansion, but overall it is well worth a visit and stunningly restored by the owners.

Had the pleasure of recently staying overnight at this amazing homestead. Thankyou to Olive and Lawrence for opening your incredible home to us. The history of the building is astonishing as is the detail and passion that Lawrence tells its stories. We would highly recommend an overnight stay for anyone that has an open mind as there are “things” that go bump in the night.

Amazing. Loved the vibe. Loved the energy. Loved chatting to the owners. What a memorable experience. While it may be Australia's most haunted homestead, I felt completely at home playing with the spirits. Saw things move. Saw orbs. Heard voices and my daughter felt her head being touched... maybe it was a spider web. Creepy but fun.

My mum Rosa and I love exploring anything abandoned or haunted so Monte Cristo was something that had been on our list for a while. We had to book months in advance but the wait was totally worth it.Firstly, the fact that Olive and Regi had restored this house without any government help or grants and opened this to the public no matter how rude people can be was so heart warming. This house is maintained solely by this family and considering the costs, time and effort involved this was so impressive. The home was absolutely beautiful, old, historic and freaking haunted. We were lucky enough to stay the night which started with with a day time walk around the outside of the property, a really nice dinner with our group and our gracious hosts, Lawrence and Hayley, a 2.5 hour tour through the homestead while being taught about the history and the spirit activity, then we finished off with a coffee and a hot apple pie. After this we slept, or shall I say DIDNT SLEEP in bedroom 2 and woke up to a nice breakfast and debrief.Olive, Lawrence, Hayley and the girls were so friendly, amazing and they went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It was an absolute honour to be able to have a glimpse of such a beautiful property as it was.Keep up the amazing work! We will definitely be back!!⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Niki & Rosa
