Magdala Motor Lodge & Lakeside Restaurant

Could not fault our stay. We were accommodated at very short notice. Service was amazing. Food at the restaurant was worth it. The pool was awesome and the kids had so much fun. We will be back for sure.

This was a gorgeous old place in a beautiful setting. Rooms were really clean & adequate, beds and shower were great. The pool was also gorgeous. There's quite a few cost saving measures in place but understandably with recent COVID restrictions. Just don't break anything as there's an exorbitant price tag on items if you do - it made us feel reluctant to use anything! Minimal power outlets (1 for kettle, toaster & microwave) & in weird places but having these items was great. Close to Halls Gap & the big koala.

A nice motel in a nice quiet location. Certainly better than most motor inns I've stayed in. Very clean and spacious with a pool and restaurant on site. I'd certainly recommended to anyone.

Comfortable, clean but cooked breakfast could have been better organised.

A quieter spot out of town with large grounds. The indoor pool came in handy after our walk to the Pinnacle lookout.

Very neat and clean, simple place by the lake. They had everything in the room that we wanted, fridge, microwave and mini bar all stocked up. Bed was very average, our room was overlooking the lake and had direct access as well. Staff of the hotel is very friendly and cooperative. Their restaurant is pretty good and decent food. Good place to stay with 3 star amenities.

We stayed 1 night, short 20 minute drive to halls gap zoo, was surprised to see so much variety of chocolates & savoury treats as well as variety of cold drinks, alcohol & wines on offer, never had that staying in any accomodation, water pressure was surprisingly great, we had the room with a spa, the owner/manager was lovely at reception said anything we needed just ask, the indoor pool was fantastic our daughter loved it, our only complaint was the time it took to have our order taken for dinner & 20 minute wait for dessert which was a pancake but meals were very nice, might be good for them to have an extra waitress on nights when most rooms are booked, overall was a good experience

Worst experience ever. Stayed there last year with family and kids. The indian decent owner/manager is so rude and rooms were very dirty and smelly. He knocked on the door and asked us (without saying please) to squeeze our car to fit more cars; where as we properly parked our car in our designated are. Room had spider nets, dirty and nails on the bed. Water pressure on the bathroom was so low that we had to stand still under the shower for a long time to wash our body. Room was not even prepared when we arrived where as we pre-booked for 10am check-in(I had booking confirmation clearly stating 10am check-in, but he kept arguing with us) and was told to wait further, we waited half an hour outside on hot weather, his attitude what like we were lucky that he let us stay in his old dirty motel. Furthermore, he wanted to charge us extra money for few minutes extra checkout. He called us on mobile and rudely threatened to come straight infront of him; I told him that our room was not prepared on time of our arrival and give us the money back for the time that room was not ready. Never experienced this kind of worst customer service in Australia, felt like this motel was in a different asian country. Never recommend to anyone to stay in this motel with family and kids. Stay away from this motel and rude guy at all costs. He keeps arguing and threatening. Worst motel stay experience ever in Australia.
