Drifters Freediving

Completed a Kilsby Retreat and Freediving course with the Drifters Freediving Crew members (Brenton, Jarrod and Ash). Nothing short of excellent.All the instructors are extremely passionate about their diving and this is reflected in how they interact with their students.Commenced the course with theory work and the confined water training in the pool with Brenton. He kept things super relaxed and made it a really great learning environment.Next we all met in South Australia where we started working on some depth, rescue and buddying techniques. With a large focus on relaxation and mindset.In the mornings, breathing and stretching workshops were led by Jarrod and Ash, to help prepare for the days diving. Beneficial skills that I will continue to use.All of this working towards a final goal of reaching a 30m dive on a single breath of air. Which was gladly achieved.Aside from being extremely professional and easy to learn from, they made it an awesome fun experience. Shared meals and stories in the evenings after returning from the afternoon harvesting our dinner from the ocean.The opportunity to dive in Kilsby Sinkhole with this crew is one not to be missed.I look forward to completing more courses and retreats with this team in the future.

Just did my AIDA2 course.These people were amazing!I went in with no expectations and was blown away by their expertise and ability to gently guide me towards exploring my abilities.The learning environment was at all times calm, friendly and surprisingly fun. Our safety was always put first. Course requirements were passed without feeling pressured or rushed. Everyone in our group progressed at their own pace and there were broad smiles all around after every dive.Brenton, Ash and Jarrod - I'm forever grateful for your time and teachings!

I signed up for AIDA 2 with Drifters Freediving in February 2023. Brenton was my instructor along with Ash and Afy. We were eased into the course by thorough explanation of theory and concept of freediving before transitioning into pool training. Brenton and his team ensured that we were all practicing within our abilities with constant encouragement and positive feedback on how we could improve. Everyone was involved and carefully looked after. Brenton and his team brought vast knowledge from all aspect of freediving into the course and the course felt very inclusive.The boat dive was extremely fun and exciting! We were able to head out to the beautiful Portsea area to practice what we learn in the pool in a very safe environment by Brenton and his team. Drifters Freediving also gave us a treat swimming with seals at the end of the course!TDLR: I recommend Drifters Freediving to anyone who wants an inclusive, stress-free and relaxing course to start their freediving journey!

Recently completed my AIDA 2 with Drifters Freediving. Our course was lead by Brenton and Ash who guided our group through theory and basics before the pool, bay and lake dives. Throughout the 3 days, Brenton and Ash explained every step, and progression to deeper dives and breath holds, as well as buddying, safety and rescue techniques. Their support and guidance made me feel safe, and they made it fun! Looking forward to doing more training with the team at Drifters in the future!

I did my AIDA 1 and 2 with Drifters and couldn't recommend them highly enough. The Drifters instructors Jarrod, Ash and Brenton, with their variety of competitive, spero and community freediving experience, make a perfect trio of instructors for freedivers of every description — from folks just getting started through to those looking to become instructors or further competitive ambitions.They take their time. They limit numbers to their retreats and pool sessions to make sure folks get the attention they need. And they're generally warm people who're a pleasure to learn from.

I just completed my AIDA1&2. Both Ash and Brenton were amazing instructors.I was incredibly nervous going into the course, but they created a safe, caring, fun and relaxed environment, with no pressure to perform.Their advice, knowledge, experience, demonstrations and energy, made this course worth every centI highly recommend Drifters.

I went on the Kilsby retreat with the Drifters team. Very knowledge and friendly people. It felt like a group of friends having a good time together whilst improving their diving skills! Will dive with them again

Can't recommend the team at Drifters highly enough! Brenton, Jarrod and Ash are brilliant instructors who are always clear, concise and calm. This is especially important when learning free diving as it's physically and mentally demanding (but ultimately incredibly rewarding!!).

Been having an absolute blast with Drifters Freediving - boat/drift diving at Portsea as well as most recently diving in South Australia at The Kilsby Sinkhole (image attached) and Ewans Ponds. Jarrod and the team are fantastic teachers, divers and all round awesome and inspiring people. Super keen for more of their future diving trips!
