The photos online did not match what we received. We paid for a garden view room for $200, we received a room with a window looking at weeds and a shed. Very disappointing. The bathroom was cold and old, no privacy as there was no shower curtain or door on the toilet. We were given the room on the corner and were unable to park our car as the allotted park for our room was boxed in by the neighbouring room’s cars (even though they parked correctly). If this room were advertised at $120 a night then I wouldn’t be upset because we would be paying for what we received but unfortunately the room was $200 and not worth our money. The lady at reception was lovely and the beds were comfortable and clean, which I guess is all you can ask for…but not for $200 a night.

Rooms were basic but had everything we needed, and if they didn't we only had to ask. We were looking for affordable but comfortable accommodation to explore the Barossa and that's what we had, although the beds were a bit to be desired in our case. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and maintained. Trust The Chef was a delightful treat. Breakfast was simple but tasty. We had room service one night as well which was enjoyable. Everyone was friendly and helped us enjoy our stay. Yeah sure, things could do with some revamping and the pictures on the website are of the nicest rooms only, but if you want better you had better be prepared to pay, and in the Barossa you certainly will. To some of these reviewers I have to say: Have some wine and cheese on the little balcony and watch the birds, maybe you'll get over yourself?

We were booked into Merlot House. Arrived to find a dated shabby unkempt building. Inside was cold sparsely furnished and uninviting. The fridge was dirty inside and out. The oven needed a clean. The outdoor dining area needed a sweep. There were still scraps of rubbish on the table from previous guests. Also on the table was a can with cigarette butts in it. The grass was very long. The front door panelling was broken and the front door step had clearly not been swept for a long time. 6 light bulbs didn't work. We couldn't bear to stay even one night (booked for 4) so got back in the car and luckily found somewhere cleaner and nicer. Returned the key 10am next morning to an equally shabby and dirty unmanned Reception office. The whole complex looks aged and scruffy. Clearly the website photos were taken jen long ago and the profile photo shows nearby Barossa Chateau which is not where motel guests or Merlot House guests would be staying!

The room was rather old looking but good enough and quite spacious. The bed was comfortable so that was good. However as the room only had blinds and shutters and no proper blackout curtains it was rather bright at 5+ am already and my baby woke up super early both mornings we stayed there and didn't sleep well the whole weekend as a result. The showers were okay too but also the tissues we're finishing and so were the soaps and they didn't give an extra one - they apparently don't even do housekeeping over the weekend and only twice a week (seriously?) So they didn't make up our room too. Was a bit disappointed on that front, but I guess it is what it is.

Amazing hosts Mandy and Mark, they could teach others in the industry a thing or two about gracious hosting. The food at happy hour tapas was lovely and affordable. Rose Gardens in the spring would be spectacular, but still lovely at this time of year. Devonshire tea at the chateau made me feel I had Escaped to the Chateau " Rooms were comfortable and clean

This would have been really nice place to stay “back in the day” however, time hasn’t been kind. The Units have been “let go” over the years and it’s showing. Some major improvements/upgrades needed to keep in line/complete with similar accommodation in the area, which is very competitive.

Probably one of the worst most unorganised places we have stayed! All the photos look amazing but it is definitely not what it looks like! They say rooms get cleaned every 4 days but its gone over that, they have a after hours phone line that never picks up no microwave or toaster in the rooms the bathrooms are old the beds feel like they are going to fall apart! The pool is green and muddy at bottom and the bbq had bugs in it!Try to avoid if you can !!!

Booķed for anniversary as restaurant on site, now closed for renovations, so very inconvenient motel a bit tired, needs a deep clean, pool needs cleaning and if the gardens were maintained would be beautiful spot. Enjoyed the nature view, no smart TV and no breakfast option

The best days for Lyndoch Hill were thirty years ago. Today, the place is sad, tired and rundown and in desperate need of refurbishment. The place has enormous potential with expansive grounds and a good location however the gardens are rundown whilst the room was extremely disappointing and, as many other reviewers have noted, in no way resembled the online advertising pictures. The room decor was dated, the bed was soft and saggy and the bathroom floor was missing a large section of tiles, laughably covered over with a rubber mat. Adjacent room noise easily permeated the walls. We were booked for two nights but left before spending a second night. Next time we visit the wonderful Barossa Valley, we will gladly pay a bit more and stay somewhere else. This is no reflection on the staff who were pleasant.

I booked the 'garden view' room, a queen bed and a single. The photos looked amazing, modern-ish with nice floor to ceiling windows by the bed, with a door exiting to the garden. An amazing restaurant that was lit up and a feature point of your establishment. We were also told upon arrival we had an allocated park right our front of our room and the pool looked resort-like and inviting. While I sit here in my 'garden view' room I'd like to share my thoughts on what I got... I got a room with two double beds, the 'floor to ceiling windows' were half blocked out, no door to the garden, and the view? Was of a tin shed and broken down pipes.Because our room was a corner room, there was no parking out front because the other rooms had parked in front of their rooms and created a blocked zone. The bathroom had no lock on the door, no shower screen or door so there was zero privacy. The pool is green and murky, and totally not like it is pictured and very uninviting...Not to mention, I was only notified earlier this week that the restaurant was not going to be in service at all which was a massive disappointment and a huge inconvenience.I'm really annoyed that I was totally misled by the photographs and the advertising of your establishment. I have also had zero contact after reaching out. It is highly unlikely I will ever stay here again or recommend to anyone else.
