We dropped in here to find out about the area and attractions and pick up some pamphlets. The staff are so friendly, helpful and professional. A must visit. Thank you.

My sister and I started our trip to Chillagoe at the Information Centre... This turned out to be a big mistake as it really left a bad taste in our mouths for the rest of the day. The second we walking in the door the woman working behind the desk asked 'Can I help you?' in the kind of hostile tone shop attendants use when they suspect you of theft. We said that we were just looking for some information and were interested in the caves. The rest of the conversation made us feel belittled and like we had wasted several hours driving out from Cairns. The woman's tone and words implied to us that we had missed all of the guided tours for the day (at 12:15pm) and there would be nothing else for us to do in the town. We genuinely discussed turning around and driving back after her outright rudeness and unwillingness to provide us with any helpful information. Fortunately, we decided to have a look around and ended up making the most of our day out west. We cannot understand why someone with such a bad attitude would work in a tourist information centre.
