Planted over 100 yrs ago it has The National Arbitorium adjoining it. A little eerie but so cool.

Such an underrated spot, happy for it to be less busy though. Absolutely will be coming back here for a picnic and walks as my new favourite spot in Canberra. Lovely and.shaded and private spots among the cork trees.

If you are visiting the National Tree Arboretum in Canberra, make a stop at the cork oak plantation, it is really worth spending some time walking through the forest. If you are lucky, you might see rosellas munching on the oak seeds called acorns.

This was very interesting & unique experience.A forest of approx 4500 Cork trees in Canberra. I really enjoyed it! Took some samples of cork home to show friends etc. (only what was lying around on the ground! DON'T HARM THE TREES! )The Cork bark is harvested approx very 10 years.
