Bundanoon Hotel

There was a very large group of us which was not normal for this Hotel. But they were amazing! We all got our meals in a good time. They were friendly and happy to accommodate us. Will definitely go again!

If I imagine taking the train to a quaint friendly pub accommodation in the highlands a hundred years ago, this place came the closest to that romantic ideal. Several bars and eateries from the down to earth Aussie pub, to a tree-shaded lighted beer garden with live music, and fine dining. Even a pool and tennis. Plenty of space for functions too, including our running club’s this weekend. Within 2k is a glow worm viewing platform, and 4km away are grand-canyon vistas to the valley 600m below. Railway station, shops and a pleasant park are a short walk away. A great find.

Ate lunch here for the first time today, lovely atmosphere, staff lovely as was the service. The food really good. My only issue was the Greek salad was listed as a side dish, but was a much bigger serving size than a side dish and I would have ordered just that on its own.

I came with a very large group of people for dinner and found the staff to be polite and accommodating. The food service was prompt and delicious! Highly recommend.

Fantastic service by all staff as we were here during a very busy weekend as Brigadoon Highland gathering was onand A day in green too.Food was excellent with a fantastic atmosphere and live music.I would recommend booking.We did not have accommodation here so we cannot comment on that.Great job to all the staff who worked very hard.

Room wasn't ready after check in time. Was told to come back in an hour without an apology or explanation. When the room was ready, it smelt disgusting, like a sewerage pit. It was coming from the bathroom and lingered the whole night, we kept the window open and sprayed the room down every hour or so. I don't know if there was a plumbing issue or it just hadn't been clean, but it was disgusting. We had booked for 2 nights but left after 1. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, which is a pity because the area itself is beautiful

Stayed Saturday night in a family ensuite room. Room was nice neat and warm. Shower was hot and beds comfy. Had dinner and breakfast. Both excellent. Service was excellent. Great old pub in a beautiful village. Great value. Great place for Southern Highlands base for bushwalking, mountain bike riding, Saturday night stop for weekend motorcycle ride. Good for groups. As for the negative reviews I think some people miss the point. It's a pub next to a train line in a village. If you want ultimate luxury and quiet go and stay at the plethora of big name hotels for 4 times the price and zero charm and atmosphere. I for one loved the experience.

The rooms let this otherwise charming hotel down. For $215/night they should be better heated, better furnished, with some amenities. We had a family room with our son and had to boil the electric kettle on the floor near the only available power. We had an 'ensuite' room, the bathroom was like a broom closet. We were constantly cold. Don't mind simple pub accomodation but not at this price.

If you are thinking about staying here I suggest you think again. Our room no16 was a joke for the cost! We booked a Queen deluxe room, it was so tinny, the shower drain did not work which flooded the floor. We I lifted the drain cap it was disgustingly dirty, the tap fittings were all loose and the door lock to our room did not feel secure. I attempted to address these issues with someone but no one was around when we left at 9.30am. This accommodation is a loser.
