Lezzet Restaurant
It’s been over 5 years since we visited Lezzet and the deal on The Fork app was the perfect excuse to return though there was a discrepancy between what the email and app said that entailed and what the restaurant wanted to honour (they agreed to it as a one off). Unfortunately I found the experience very underwhelming and the composition of flavour poorly balanced. The entree and main were excessively salty and the dessert was overpoweringly sweet. The main itself was entirely one dimensional. Pieces of chicken in a béchamel with a thin piece of bread on top. If needed vegetables or something else to entertain the palette because I couldn’t keep eating the same mouthful. It is also not remotely authentic which is unsurprising given none of the staff seemed to know anything about Turkish cuisine when asked questions. Certainly not value for money at full price given even the presentation fails to impressOriginal reviewMy cousin and I were excited to check this out for dinner as there's a real gap on the Melbourne foodie scene for fine dining Turkish cuisine. It was very dimly lit and had a wonderfull ambiance but the generosity of the portion size immediately concerned me.They seem to have bumped up their prices when they renovated. The dips and bread are $16.50 and while I do have a fondness for carbs that extends beyond the norm I don't think this is a shareable serving. Certainly not when you think of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean hospitality. Not sure why fine dining seems to be synonymous with microscopic but there you have it.Diet portions aside there were some good flavours there and the bread was lovely and soft. I was loving the drinks menu and how you can drink your way around the region with from Morocco to Croatia with a cocktail list comprising traditional flavours from the different counties.I had the Istanbul lamb which I quite enjoyed, it was certainly a unique offering compared to what you find at other Turkish restaurants in Melbourne. In fact the entire menu was very elegant as was to be expected I suppose given we have 'contemporary' right there in the name and we are tailoring to an Elwood audience after all.Creative but it didn't necessarily wow me enough for a return trip as I missed the presence of a few rustic homely dishes on the menu

Lezzet Restaurant
Overrated and overpriced. Went years ago with family prior to renovations and presumably change of management. Came with husband tonight for the first time and was extremely disappointed. Noisy, no intimacy and felt like a fast food restaurant. We were given the worst table imaginable in the middle of traffic, service was slow and unfriendly and food was actually terrible, considering price and “reputation”. We were anticipating this dinner for weeks but were let down exceptionally. Will definitely not be returning.

Recommended by our friend to try out this Turkish restaurant. Was very different from expected. Always had the impression that Turkish food is just humus dips & grilled meat but this was different. The dips where amazing...

Generous portion with set course that comes on the table at a perfect pace. Waiters and the manager were quite courteous. Been here a couple of times and will be back for sure.

Have never left Lezzet hungry or disappointed. It’s a fresh feast, great service and a lovely vibe.We always start with the dips. Try not to order extra bread, just overload what you’re given. Carrot, surprisingly is out absolute fave.Istanbul Lamb, the pilaf and calamari are our faves. We love it all.Often we book through the Fork and are delighted when we score a 50% food (not banquet) table.Recommend.

We went for the 5-course meal, which is pretty decent value for money. There were no bad dishes, some exceptional ones and some were just okay. The Turkish bread to start, the Tavuk and the dessert of the day was amazing. There other dishes were okay, but would definitely be a return customer.Customer service and hospitality was on point.

Visited this place the first time using the 50% discount from The Fork. I would say it’s been a really pleasant visit. The first thing that appealed to me was the ambience in the restaurant, it’s dim, romantic and calming. Service was good, all the servers were very helpful and friendly. Food was pretty good too, although I would say I have had better dips at other places. We had the dips platter to share, the stuffed squid, 40hours slow cooked lamb and a roasted cauliflower side dish. My personal favourite is the stuffed squid. It’s something I’ve never had before, you can taste the flame on the squid and the stuffed rice is super flavourful and saucy. All in all, a nice place to have dinner if you’re in the area.

A really nice dining experience. We sampled several of the starters and had mains and there was not a dish that wasn’t flavour packed and perfectly presented. The atmosphere is really lovely and staff were friendly and helpful.
