Having been here before and having an excellent experience with the owner, rocked up today and was rudely turned away by his wife. As a decent group who has bought wine at each winery out of both joy and courtesy, we found the immediate reception to be very rude. Unfortunately we feel it's necessary to share this experience with our friends who may visit (we are Canberra locals) and the wine suppliers and distributors we know (a number of). Had a very positive experience with numerous other cellar door staff we interacted with today. It's a shame Helm, what a shame.

It was by far the best wine tasting experience we had in Murrumbateman. Ken is knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining. The rieslings are gorgeous as are the cab savs.

Amazing wine, some ready to drink now others great now but will be phenomenal after a couple of years in the cellar. Ken has so much knowledge stored in his head and so much personal experience I hope he gets the opportunity to write a book one day. Always a fascinating day at Helm Wine

Best winery in the Canberra region. Always a great time visiting the tasting room for a chat with Ken, one of the legends of Australian wine making.

This afternoon a small group of us went to Helm wanting to finish our wine tour on a high note. We were a group of people with varying levels of knowledge of wine, but also with the knowledge of the reputation and high standard for which Helm is known. Before we had even set foot in the door we were told that we wouldn't be served as there were too many of us. There was no attempt made to suggest that some of us sit out the tasting, or to even try and get some business out of us. More importantly the tone used was just plain rude, and smacked of get lost now". All of us were absolutely stunned. There were 2 other cars in the carpark

Please take the time to visit Helm if you are in the region.One of the best tasting experiences that I have had. Superb rieslings, deliciously aged Cabernets.We turned up nice and early around 10 in the morning, and other enthusiastic visitors quickly filled up the little tasting house. Ken gave everyone a great tasting through his wines, as well as some entertaining conversation - really making our experience!There is nothing better than a tasting with the winemaker himself. A real legend!

Ken was engaging and passionate. He was very generous with his time and you didn’t feel rushed. If you love Riesling it is the place to go
