Surprise spot for a caravan park -Not too bad.When Pelican, Puma and Tatts grounds were full I was directed to The Information Centre (thank you Puma manager) to get a site.They took my $30 for a powered site and sent me off to the racecourse / Showgrounds to select my own site. I was fairly desperate at this stage and didn't expect too much but wanted a secure, safe powered site.The racecourse is on the edge of town and the Council have installed taps / power bollards in the centre of the racecourse surrounding the toilet / shower block.The site is mostly dirt but relatively level. Would be very muddy in wet weather.There were already about 50 caravans and motor homes there on powered and unpowered sites. So we felt very secure.The toilet block was about the same as at the real caravan parks. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and no smell of sulphur.Turned out to be a really good spot and I would happily come here again although being right in town at Pelican or Tattersalls is far more convenient.
