Marketech Focus

I am a long time investor and recently changed to Marketech because I want my portfolio assets under a unique HIN (rather than a custodial structure) and to reduce commissions. There were some issues with the transfer not caused by Marketech, however during the process the assistance provided by Marketech was quick and professional. Response times following an email request varied from minutes to a max of a couple of hours. Impressed so far.

Subscription based? Don’t know how it will succeed - good luck, you lost a client.

Force a subscription model on you, to even buy shares and still charge a trading fee. Don’t bother - CMC Markets is much better.Update - I was forced to Marketech as was with OpenTrader previously.Why can’t you have a set fee (without subscription) for everyday traders? Not everyone day trades???

A good value broker with great features that are just getting better all the time.

My partner was moved to this platform automatically post Opentrader take over. The process was entirely through email which is ok - however, was completely manual (must create new accounts and have no access to holdings until complete).Good:- Appears to be a usable and powerful trading platform- Day traders (low proportion of the community) can make use of cheap per trade prices under the subscription modelBad:- Customer service and response is very poor. Very slow responses and all service is via email (no live discussion chat/call possible). I am very very uncomfortable with this solution.- Trading is only possible through a paid subscription service, hence all holdings you have are locked unless joining the subscription or moving to another broker and transferring holdings. This is a very odd solution and is not suitable for the majority of customers.Finally - I am very surprised to see the other reviews of the business stating that the 'customer service is excellent'. It doesnt make sense when you are typically waiting half a day for responses.

Super happy I made the switch to Marketech, they offer cheap brokerage with exceptional customer service. When I set up my account, I had to transfer some stock from my other broker and their client support team were very quick to respond and help me through the process.The trading platform is easy to use with live pricing and excellent charting capabilities. I also like that my shares and money are held in my own name...and not through a trustee.

Recently I was forced to migrate from Opentrader to a Marketech Focus account. i will be definitely moving to a different trading platform. their basic account doesn't even allow you to trade!They have cheap fees that aren't so cheap when you take in the monthly fee to trade!

I'ver been using Marketech for over a year now and I can say that it is a great platform, with real time support , and improvements keeps coming. Not to mention brokage fee it is one of the cheapest in the markets. It is a no brainer. If you are looking for a good trading platform with great charting Marketech is your solution.

Have been extremely impressed with Marketech in the two months I've been a customer. After first trying another new platform was a bit cheaper for some things (no fees on ETF trades etc), but actually offered way less functionality than Commsec (who i was with before), Marketech feels like it has nailed the balance between low price while still delivering on functionAccount opening was relatively painless. Takes a little longer but you get a Macquarie bank account that you can manage yourself. Waiting for my account to be funded took longer than I am used to when I could just transfer immediately before, but the flip side of is the security of the macquarie account offers, as well as trading under my own HIN - definitely worth the small inconvenience IMHO as this was something I was uncomfortable about with the broker I just moved fromActually using Marketech has been good - while I always used charts, I've started to focus on it more as part of my trading strategy, and having live streaming data and being able to place orders on the chart is a brilliant function. Then there's the reduction in overall fees, which means it's costing me significantly less than my original yellow and black broker, and the more I trade, the more I save compared to themOverall, really pleased with how it's going so far - I'd give them a 5 for once you're up and running, but a 4 because it took a little longer than I would have liked to get started
