Midland Magistrates Court

An office of the government states that their office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm but they close up to 10 minutes before their stated closing time. They defend themselves by saying that their public servants" are to leave the office at exactly 4:30pm which is why they lock their doors up to 10 minutes before 4:30pm. Is it not the job of a public servant to "serve the public" at times as listed on office buildings and internet sites? One understands that public servants are paid by "the working public". Recommendation to the Minister - amend written closing time to initially 4:20pm while investigating measures to ensure offices that serve the public close at either 5:30pm which is in keeping with other institutions or - preferably: deregulate the industry so the public can be better served. It is extremely disappointing that people who work in full time employment have to make massive changes just to get to a government building that still adheres to 20th century office hours."

We were at Midland children's court on the 28th June for a FVRO objection hearing. The applicants father is a physically, mentally and emotionally abusive person. He has threatened myself and my daughter. We were scared about being around him as he is a lose canon. When I lodged the objection the staff put a flag on the case so they would have extra security on for that day. When I arrived I spoke to the staff who reassured me and put me in a safe room out the back. Security guards waited for my daughter outside and escorted her upstairs. They never left her alone there was extra security inside the court room too. In the end the applicant didn't show up for the hearing. Even though they weren't there, security still stayed with us. Everyone, the reception staff, security, the ladies doing the transcripts and the magistrate, were all AMAZING! Thank you for your kindness, understanding, empathy, knowledge, safety and all round supportive staff. Thank you again.

Went there to have some documents witnessed by the JP, and behold no written sign in forms/paper at door. And old people at lost over what to do and sign under what reasons they are in the court building for at the sorting screen. Should this not have been done at door, before they even allowed to cross security?

The WORST staff and police station in Perth. The police have still not served a violence restraining order to the offender only 1km down the road despite seeing them in person on multiple occasions. I call and the staff are rude and insist they are “busy.” It’d been 18 days, they prevent NOTHING only doing something when it’s too late. Don’t go here, go to any other station. Officer 17034 had the person being violent towards me right in front of her and still didn’t serve the VRO they are legally responsible for doing so. They don’t protect the community, they protect themselves. You should all be ashamed of yourself.
