Nice little spot you can enjoy a coffee and some food. We went for breakfast and the bacon&egg roll and the waffles were so good!!

Not many reviews but it is one of the unique places in canberra. Coffee was real good thanks to barista. Food was okay, just a little bit greasy and oily to finish the sandwiches. It was really busy but service was good.

Such a fantastic place to eat with a great atmosphere. Off the streets and down a lane, combined with great music makes for such an awesome atmosphere. That coffee and food was delicious and the service was top notch. The staff are so friendly. High recommend!

Our Jim Morrison look alike host and food were devine. Seriously awesome food and service. Will definitely be back. Chilled and relaxed atmosphere.

We visited on a Sunday morning. Friendly team and good food, however we didn't see the best that the place has to offer. The team's speed of service was disappointing - we found ourselves waiting a long time for both food and coffee to arrive. We also came by on a day where they couldn't do their chicken waffles. The food itself is quite creative, if slightly overpriced - the mushrooms are a great example of innovative use of crumb/fry. The Asian sauce of the dish was also very good, but everything was drenched in it, overpowering the meal.A highlight is their waffle hashbrown - another great food innovation. The breakfast burger unfortunately didn't impress given the price point vs contents - using a brioche bun might improve it in future. The guys did their best to keep us warm but keep in mind that it does get cold, especially in winter - some seats are better than others depending on heater availability.

Nice place and products. However, really disappointed in the awful customer service, or lack there of. I thought maybe this was just a one off, although I found other people (who were regulars at the cafe they had before) I knew had the same experience. This is coming from somebody who believes in supporting local skate stores, that enjoyed the former café and long time hospitality worker.Super unfriendly and not even acknowledging you or your friends you came with even though you are the only ones in the store. I entered the store smiling to them and they had just basically death stared my friends and I and continued their conversation. The two staff members sitting and talking to each other, where it feels like entering the shop was an intrusion. We looked around the shop for a while hoping they would help one of us or greet us at least. It really rubbed me the wrong way that they wouldn’t even pause their conversation for one second to even greet or say a single word to us; felt so cold. Even liked a top that I wanted to get for my partner but there was no tag on any of the collection. Didn’t think it was worth asking, which would be the likely result of their customer service.Have worked in hospitality and retail and know that no matter how great the products are, nothing can repel customers more than bad customer service. Additionally, you should be greeting and supporting customers; especially when it’s quiet and that you’ve clearly seen them. At the cafe before, the staff I had spoken to were really quite nice and friendly. Please be better. Feel disappointed that a local business could potentially be losing a lot of customers due to this. That’s why I’m writing this. Please be better.

The burgers, potato gems and fried cauliflower here are excellent and I think I have found a new favourite burger restaurant in CBR. We ordered from Uber Eats and the food remained excellent once they arrived. Yours truly @fooderarri

[originally posted 8 Dec 2018] Very fortunate to have stumbled upon this great little, brand new cafe (8 days old?), having just landed in Canberra from Melbourne this morning. The city of Melbourne prides itself on its coffee, cafe and alleyway culture. The Church is promising, and IMHO rivals the best Melbourne has to offer in terms of the quality of the coffee, food, design cues and vibes. It is perhaps no accident that this cafe is located in the dead space behind the iconic heritage Melbourne Building. The space is being cleaned up and revitalised (or as Melbourne town planners say activated") by the ACT government for entertainment venues (Well played. Very "Melbourne" indeed!) Anyway
