Danmar Homes - Brilliant Building Company!!Our dream home in Wembley Downs began life mid July 2017 when after extensive searching we chose Danmar Homes to be our builder. We selected Danmar Homes because there were a number of items of the build we wished to complete with our own contractors such as air conditioning, solar power, pool, landscaping and timber flooring and Danmar were happy to accomodate our wishes. We also felt during our initial discussions and consultations we were listened to. Jim McMahon was our designer and hats off to Jim he listened and provided us with a concept. Then we changed some bits, he listened again, provided revision 1, we changed some more bits, he listened…. and to cut a very long story short Jim patiently listened I have no idea how many times. I think we eventually settled and signed off on revision 10. Thanks for your patience Jim.The next stage was the planning approval process. Again Danmar’s approach we felt was excellent. They stayed on top of the process, kept us in the loop, discussed with us the minor changes council requested, made them and obtained our final planning approval. And we were all good to commence building!! Roo Hoo!!I’m sure by this time “these people (us) are the clients from hell” was beginning to get banded around the offices. And so a lady by the name of Nicole drew the short straw as our client liaison officer. We met her for some preliminary discussions in December of 2017 and straightaway Nicole was very forthcoming offering us tips with materials and colour selections. We felt more comfortably armed now to make our material selections ready for our pre start meeting. Hmm!! If you believe Jim had the patience of a saint during the design stage, Nicole deserved a Nobel prize for patience during the construction stage. In all, throughout the construction process, lets just say we made a significant number of changes and many of these were changes to changes, yet Nicole took them all in her stride and accommodated each and everyone. Also, during the construction period we were emailed photos of our build every week without fail. A really nice touch we thought enabling us to make an album of our build. Our building supervisor was Paul. Paul was the poor soul who not only had to supervise our build but also had to implement the one or two (actually many) changes we made throughout the build. But nothing got left out, everything was included. Our slab went down in late February 2018 and our 2 story 372sqm. home was handed over in early April 2019. That’s pretty amazing!! Yes, during the construction period there were a few challenges but these were dealt with and resolved swiftly through very open channels of communication. The ‘tradies’ were very good, friendly and obliging and it was a joy to watch our home come to life. Whilst building a new home is generally considered one of the more stressful things one might take on in life all in all we’d like to say Danmar Homes de-stressed the process pretty much down to nil. In the current market of building companies going under and stories of poor quality workmanship surfacing we think Danmar Homes did a truely amazing job. The overall quality of the build throughout was extremely good and we felt the price was very good. Without question we would highly recommend Danmar Homes. Thanks to all at Danmar Homes for our beautiful new home.

We are currently building our 3rd home in about 10 years with Danmar so that in a way speaks for itself. We have been very happy with the service and quality provided. We've always built custom designs and asked for finishes beyond what would be considered standard - Danmar Homes have always accommodated these requests. I recall numerous occasions where independent trades have commented on the great quality of the work that had been done and that really showed as time past when comparing our home to neighbouring properties built at the same time. Building your home is a BIG deal and having faith is your builder is paramount. Experience is everything and their team has a lot of it! We would happily recommend Danmar Homes as a quality builder.

We built our home with Danmar in 2019/2020. The whole process was as pain free as building a house can be. Danmar are cost conscious while still delivering a high-quality build. The office team were great and very responsive. The site team and tradies used did a great job and cared about the quality of the work they were completing. We handed over just before COVID hit but had no problem following up with a few defaults. Even several years after hand over Danmar have been great dealing with some defaults or tweaking the guttering for instance.Highly recommend.

My house was built by Danmar in 2014 and there has been many faults including roofs leaks, roof sheets not properly secured, leaks around fixtures attached to outside walls, smoke decter only fixed to plasterboard and more. Before selecting Danmar I encourage you to search for their history regarding roofs. I wished I had. Their maintenance team never replies. I've sent 3 emails in over a month in regards to the plasterboard badly cracking around my bathroom exhaust fan. It feels like it was only screwed into plasterboard on 3 sides. They still haven't replied. I am now going to have to search my options regarding going to the building commission to resolve these issues. I have a friend who has had similar experiences with Danmar. Other townhouses attached to mine also have had roof leaks. Do your research on the quality of their houses and avoid.

Danmar has very bad project management as there is no one proactively communicate to me and only gave me one line of schedule which misleading me to demolish my house last year. After that they ask for significant cost increase per house (I was going to build 3 houses) even though we have signed fixed price contact. So I have no choice but to cancel the contracts any paying for the 35k and not having the new houses and left with the vacant lot. The structural plan has not even been done. There is working drawing and DA approved with some reports done such as geotech, storm water and site classification reports.

We have finished the process wondering how we can build again, with extensive project management experience across a multitude of industries we recognise Danmar's service of a high standard.Throughout the process from subdivision support through construction of two homes with specific purposes and design principles Danmar delivered the brief.Danmar hosted ongoing site inspections, extensive engagement and open communications throughout the project resulting in completion of 2 fantastic houses, with no outstanding actions at Practical Completion.Danmar facilitated open access for site inspections to the designer Griff Morris from Solar Dwellings, as well as holding weekly meetings for the build resulting in the realisation of our wonderful solar passive house dream.Finding Danmar, a builder that embraced the sustainable design concepts and finding the attitude to go that extra mile to meet the design intent was a great comfort to us.Danmar through the support of their great team achieved all this through a very challenging time for the industry. Our subdivision commenced in 2020 with site works commencing September 2020. Openness and clear communication on schedule issues enabled us to work together to progress. Clear articulation on Provisional Sum items in advance where industry costs were increasing as well as providing alternate solutions enabled effective cost and schedule management. The staff that supported our build were amazing and Danmar are lucky to have people like Angela, Paul and Ben. Regardless of our requests, Danmar were supportive with their responses and guidance. As mentioned, we look forward to building again one day and Danmar will be top of our list, but for now we are enjoying the fruits of our amazing journey. Thanks you to all at Danmar.

If there was an option for no stars, that's what they'd be getting. The communication from Danmar since day 1 of my family member purchasing a property built by Danmar has been nothing short of abysmal. All I can say is, if you choose to build with them, be prepared to hit your head against a brick wall if you have any issues post-construction.

I could have rated 5 Stars if my Danmar built town house in Yokine, haven’t had these issues.1. The serious fault on the floor of ensuite bathroom, which is NOT applying water proofing techniques to the shower floors causing water leak to concrete slab, see the photo.** If you are building a two storey house with Danmar make sure that they do the water proofing according to Australian standards.2. A very lame mistake when installing the shower glass, on wrong side, probably did by a trainee/ apprentice, and the person who did the final checks on the building been irresponsible or ignorant.I’m the second owner of this town house and this is now out of builders warranty also their insurers statutory 10 years of warranty on defects so I’m out of pocket on fixing these and water proofing is the costly one.Danmar still in business for over 20 years I believe that’s a very positive outlook for a builder because many builders go in to boom and bust in 5-7 years.Overall condition of my town house , the building, roof , floors etc is very good for the age which is around 15 years.I recommend Danmar but someone has to keep a close eye on how they build.

After being dropped by two builders, we became reluctant in building our new home. We were referred to Danmar, and they instantly responded. Changing our perspective on the building process. They have been there to answer our silliest questions and super supportive along the whole journey. They have built our first house for us and walked us through every step of the journey. We couldn't be more thankful for Carl, Angela, Mark and everyone behind this beautiful building company. Thank you for making our dream home become a reality.C&J

We recently built a two storey home with Danmar Homes. Building commenced February 2019 and key handover was early December 2019. We are six months living in the home and very pleased with the finish. We found Danmar excellent to deal with, always responded to our questions on time and the attention to detail on the build was excellent. We would have no hesitation recommending Danmar Homes.
