The Oasis

They are not good at answering their phones but the place is really amazing. The air is so clean and it has a great atmosphere. If you like nature, you would love this place

Absolutely wonderful 3 night stay here. The setting of The Oasis is beautiful. The cabin is clean, spacious, and with what you need, and the jacuzzi is an excellent addition. The hosts really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I would highly recommend.

The check in was ok, however the owner lacked basic courtesy as he approached the room without any advance notice to complain about dog behaviour and caused unnecessary distress to our children. The bathroom does not have a basic shower stall, just a curtain. The water runs in the bathroom. The location is about 800m to the beach.

Great basecamp for people with pets. House is ok, plenty of beds for 8 people for the pet friendly house. Bathroom seems to be designed as accesible/ wheel chair friendly so it's a challenge to keep it dry during shower. The attic where 6 of tje beds are gets very hot if the AC is on heater mode, but still cold downstairs (winter), so opening the upstairs window helps with the heat. The tin roof gets noisy when sleeping at the attic and it rains, but it's fine for us and kids didnt notice.The owners are nice. There are big mosquitos at around 5pm to 7pm then they're gone, bring repellant. The nearest beach - One Mile beach, does not allow dogs, but there are others nearby.

The Wi-Fi only works in certain cabins. Even though they had assured us that there would be Wi-Fi. In our cabin one of our lights broke during the first night. And on our last night you could smell sewage. We had brought a dog and expected it to be very good as cabins would mean he would barely see anyone. A couple of times he barked at the owners as they walk around the place, however it was always on our front yard or our pathway. The owner decided to deal with this by walking straight up to our cabin and tell us off. He didn't even bother to knock just started speaking. He threatened to kick us out if it happened again even though the incidents happened while our dog was on leash and on our cabins property.

The name says it all....The place is truly an Oasis" amongst suburbia.A great place to relax & laze around.Nicely appointed two story cabins with a bedroom (Queen bed)

Cherrie and Mark are amazing hosts and most helpful. I had the best sleep in years, a/c works fantastic, hot tub beautifuland and relaxing and sparkling clean. The surrounding natural environment was great therapy and location is secluded enough but so close to shopping centres restaurants and the Nelson Bay Marina, I can't wait to return.Thank you.MaryAnne X

I arrived late at night, due to my flight time so it was outside of office hours. The lady in the office was very accommodating, she left the lights on for me. When I walked into the cabin I could smell moisture/mold straight away. The office was closed so I was unable to speak to anyone in the office. The smell was so bad once I closed all the windows and door that were left open. Assuming they knew how bad it smelt, this may have been there way of trying to get rid of the smell. By the morning I had a headache and a cough. I found accommodation elsewhere and checked out. The lady in the office wasn't rude but didn't seem to think there was a problem with the smell. I would pay a little bit extra and stay elsewhere. The grounds do not look like the picture, it has not been maintained. Overall definitely would not go back, but this is just my experience. Hopefully the problem is addressed.

First off I would like to say the staff at The Oasis were one of a kind. The receptionist was super friendly and could not do enough for us. Management were fantastic. The rooms absolutely spotless. Wow what an atmosphere seeing the wild possums feeding them biscuits, hearing the koalas wow just wow what an experience. The grounds are gorgeous, we are considering it for our wedding next year. Cannot rate this place highly enough. I have had the best 2 days ever I don’t want to leave
