Murrumbeena Primary School

It’s a great school I went there till grade 2 then moved to Hughesdale and I got taught a lot more at this school.Highly recommended but I did get bullied a lot.

Amazing school that sets you up for life. I'm a former student of the school (2010-2016) and can confidently say that it teaches you lifelong skills whilst giving you the best education to get a head start in high school. This school provides support teachers for those falling behind and extension work in class for those who are academically gifted. The teachers are engaging and enthusiastic and want to see you excel. Students are given the opportunity to participate in interschool sport in grades 5 and 6 which teaches them dedication and the importance of time management and punctuality to attend trainings and support their team. Their leadership program allows for students to get involved and provide feedback to the staff to help progress the school. This includes their student representative council and senior positions of house and school captains. Their grounds are well kept with an indoor heated swimming pool on sight so that students don't have to travel far for lessons. Murrumbeena also boasts multiple playgrounds dedicated to senior and junior year levels, an oval, two square and netball/ basketball courts and a garden where students partake in a kitchen/garden program. Instances of bullying and misbehaviour are dealt with exceptionally so that the issue is quickly and effectively resolved. I only have the best words to say for this school and hope they maintain their amazing reputation!

very good school

I went to Murrumbeena from 2010-2016 and I often still think about my time there. I remember this school fondly, and it has taught me many of the life skills I still use today. It has incredible facilities, and the teachers are approachable and know what they're doing. I was always excited for school and looked forward to seeing my friends. I wish I could go back now honestly.

We moved to the area from Queensland middle of last year and were so concerned about the school for our son having not visited prior. We managed to sneak in a school tour right before the second lockdown occurred (the principal showed us around herself!) and our son's first term (term 3) was all online, so I got to hear how he was being taught andI must say I was incredibly impressed with the level of professionalism and care shown by his Grade 3 teacher. She kept the students motivated and still maintained impeccable learning standards. When the kids were able to resume in-school classes in Term 4, our son would come home and talk about his day and rattle off several things he'd learned as well as who he'd played with. His teacher did a wonderful job in helping us connect with other parents and their families to build some friendships for our son, and he is thriving. I was very concerned about bullying, but so far we've not heard anything to be worried about and our son is happy to head back to MPS for Grade 4. Very happy with our decision to move to this neighborhood for our son to attend - our youngest starts Prep this year and can't wait!
