Alva Beach Tourist Park
We booked into this caravan park for the proximity to the SS Yongala Dive company. The park is well laid out with clean bathroom facilities and a great pool. The camp kitchen was small and could really benefit from some kind of bug attraction and kill/deterrent system as we were overwhelmed by bugs attracted to the lights at night. We booked in off peak and the park operators were so flexible and easygoing with us changing our date of stay with no dramas. Large spacious sites with good grass made our tent stay a dream, but we do wished we had more privacy screening between sites as we felt very open. There are small hedges between some sites but would be great to feel more private, especially in a tent. Overall a good stay, worth the drive off the beaten track.

Nice caravan park but crawling in biters. We had been considering staying two nights here but were both so bitten and hot on the first night we couldn’t face staying another. Facilities are all clean and the employee (owner?) we spoke to was very friendly. If there had been a bit more of a breeze to help with the heat and the mozzies we would have stayed another night.

Thankyou again Lloyd and Lisa for your hospitality. The cabins are perfect for my stay whilst scuba diving on the Yongala Wreck.

The best thing about this place are the helpful host. Very friendly and helpful and go the extra yard to help. The park itself is nice, clean and well kept. The location is just a short walk to the beach. Plenty of green grass too. Really enjoyed staying there. On the downside, the power went off several times in the evening while cooking. Well we just continued cooking with gas.Powered sites with concrete pads $38 a night. All good Jim.

Great location near the beach. Pool and clean facilities with everything you need. The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond to support us with some day activities e.g. fishing.

This lovely caravan park is a great off the beaten track van park and is very reasonably priced if you want somewhere nice and quiet and still within walking distance to the beach. Only $28 for two for camping with power! That is not something you get anywhere on Sunshine Coast. Well worth the little drive out from Ayr shopping centre. The camp kitchen is nice and clean with a big fridge and a big TV to sit and relax. The bathroom a bit dated but still charming enough and a lovely pool to relax in and cool off from the heat.
