The Wood Restaurant
Outstanding.The evening was one highlight after another. The menu offered by Sean Townsend was nothing short of sublime! He seems a top bloke from the chats we had while he was at the table introducing each dish, and that shone through in every course. A passion for food transferred directly to the plateOur waitress Emma was warm, engaging and knowledgeable, which ensures that the high standards of the food were not let down by the service.Dining so good we forgot to take photos. Thank you.

Fantastic! We have special dietary requirements that are difficult for normal chefs to cater for - gluten free, dairy free, sugar free - but this was no problem at The Wood. Even with the set menu, we were looked after so well! Even the dessert we got was made specially for us and it was the best we have ever had. A fantastic night out and definitely worth the money.

The Wood restaurant was great.It is pricey, but the food quality is amazing.We were wonderfully hosted, however table service was quite slow (they seemed slightly short on staff)However it was great and we will be back. Thanks to Luke who was a great host and even arranged a wine tasting after lunch for us.

We had dinner at The Wood last night and thoroughly enjoyed the banquet menu. The barramundi and slow cooked lamb were standouts. The restaurant itself was beautiful, lots of plants provided a relaxed but elegant feel. Service was relaxed but prompt and when we had gift card drama (best restaurants) the manager rectified it in no time with minimal fuss. Extensive local and international wine list. I'd definitely go back! Thank you for making my birthday dinner a wonderful one!

Very yummo food! I didnt know this restaurant exist in Hunter. Love it. Booking is essential over the weekend. Enough parking space. Indoors and outdoors, nice ambience. Again, food was so yummy. And very expensive. I mentioned expansive not for the quality, its for the quantity. Well, still I managed to make myself full with bigger bill. For this price of food, I would expect more trained waitress/waiter to serve us. It’s a very little thing, for example, we ordered our drinks and the waitress just dump on the corner of table not giving it to individuals. Food was served in timely manner.

Nice environment and very good service. The food service was fast. We ordered four-course menu and a bottle of sparkling wine.The food quality was fine but we weren’t really impressed by the combination of the food. The quail was a bit burnt on the outside so we could taste some bitterness . And the main course portion was a bit small. Comparing to other restaurants in nearby area, 4-course menu under $100 pp is quite good deal.Given that the nice vibe and great service, we would like to revisit later when they have a new menu.
