The Melbourne Chippy

The Melbourne Chippy recently did work for us and I can say they are professional, friendly and their work speaks for itself - awesome. The Melbourne Chippy is punctual and their work spaces are sparkling clean when they leave. Highly recommend them for any carpentry / renovations you require.

We had an excellent experience with The Melbourne Chippy, who renovated our kitchen, laundry, study and lounge as well as one bedroom. James, Eden and the team worked and communicated professionally, provided helpful advice on the project without imposing their ideas on us, and were always responsive to feedback themselves. The final product looks fantastic! Happy to recommend them for any kind of home renovation project!

James and his team from The Melbourne Chippy renovated my apartment bathroom and did a fabulous job. James kept me up to date with the progress and when it was finished I went in to find it all looking great and the place was left spick and span!!! Thanks James.

We had a fairly simple job that needed completing, we were quoted 'roughly' for about 8 hours of work. We accepted the quote on this basis. The young man who completed the job finished in 4 hours. When I emailed the office to question the quote and asked for a review of the sum, I was told, it was non-negotiable, as I had accepted the quote so no matter how long it takes that's how much I have to pay. The office person argued the toss with me and then finally broke down the total sum. She claimed the worker spent 90 mins collecting materials, which consisted of two weatherboards, a piece of trim and presumably a few nails and filler, we live 10 minutes from Bunnings so this stounded me. She also stated that 2 workers were at the site for a period of time (we were charged for this) when it was only ever one worker.Further, the workmanship was very disappointing, while the young man was very pleasant, he only countersank some nail holes and not others, leaving nails sticking out, filling some nail holes and joins and not others, leaving us to do the rest. He also did not use completely dressed timber, making it difficult to paint.I would suggest if you use this company, ensure you get an itemised costing of all works and materials and check the work before they leave. We were very disappointed with the service of the Melbourne Chippy and would not recommend them.

James and his team were amazing. All the team were polite, arrived on time and James was great at communicating what was happening. Our bathroom looks incredible, I would recommend them to anyone.

We have worked alongside The Melbourne Chippy team now for a number of projects.Both on and off site they have been nothing but professional, communication was and is second to none.Will continue to recommend their team to anyone for all and any renovation or uprade works.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend James and the team! From start to finish they were friendly and able to deliver exactly what we wanted on a number of jobs. They have swapped out windows for us, replaced weatherboards and restored a lot of heritage detail with a lot of care. Matt and Chris on site were always super friendly and Eden in the office was super fast with communications. Time estimates were bang on and we're very happy with the quality of all the carpentry the work!

TMC built a beautiful spotted gum deck for our home and we couldn't be happier with the result.Easily the most professional tradespeople I've dealt with - organised, punctual, responsive and kept our home neat and clean while they worked. Will happily recommend TMC to our friends in the future.

Glad I found The Melbourne Chippy after many attempts to get quotes. They did a great job replacing bathroom vanities and installing a feature wall in guest bedroom. Arrived as promised and cleaned up 100%. Highly recommended

There was a need to restore heritage features and modernise for todays market. James and his team were were best in class. He and professional contacts and contractors delivered on time and to our budget. His communication was outstanding.
