The Reef Reserve
Beautiful relaxing spot over looking the water, pet friendly and nice and tidy. Toilets were clean and the water activities were great. Highly recommend for a quiet get away

It’s got to be one of the best free camping spots in NSW. Toilets, fire pits, fishing, even council provided BBQs and rubbish bins as well as sheltered picnic tables. Be warned, in winter it gets COLD (negative degrees Celsius) with windchill blowing off the lake. The tracks are dirt and some are a bit rough but can still be driven in 2WD. The campsites are far enough away from each other that you don’t see or hear other campers (unless they’re total idiots). The boat launch is popular with fishermen. Cell phone reception in the entire site. Will absolutely come back again.

This is a great spot for setting up for up three nights (72hr maximum allowed). Lovely views, great for kayaking, although not the largest waterway, and it's very close to town and other spots to visit for day trips (Kanangra Boyd NP, which is great for walks and swimming under a waterfall). The only issue with the Reef Reserve is the absolutely disgusting state of the toilets. Unlike NSW National Parks Services who daily clean their drop toilets, these toilets look and smell like they've never been cleaned. Thankfully the town of Oberon is so close it meant we could pop into town for serious business ;) .I definately recommend the spot but be warned, the toilets are not for the faint hearted!!!(You'll be pleased I didn't post any photos).

Fantastic place to relax.- BBQ facilities- Toilets- Picnic shelters available- and free camping spots. The camp spots are scattered around where you are not on top of each other. (Perfect)Some of the spots also have fire pits.Kayacking is also allowed, but you must have a life jacket.

The Reef Reserve
The Reef Reserve is a picturesque lakeside park that offers a stunning natural landscape with breathtaking views. The park is well-maintained and offers visitors a range of amenities, including picnic areas and scenic walking trails that provide an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the lake. The park is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. I enjoyed the tranquil ambiance of the park and the various bird species sightings that added to the park's natural beauty. The Reef Reserve is an ideal destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing outdoor experience in a serene and tranquil setting with a beautiful lake view.

Great free camping spot. Has 2 drop toilets, shaded picnic tables and right on the lake. We watched the sunset over the lake. There are many camping spots, the ones nearer the toilets are hard gravel ground which are hard to peg into but ones further away are dirt campsites.

Great camping and picnic spot. It was very windy when we were there. Picnic tables and toilets. Looks like a good fishing spot.

10 out of 10 free camp. Fishing and paddle boarding, optus and telstra coverage, fires, public toilets, undercover gazebos. Lots of wildlife and a scenic place to set up and camp. Very tidy Dump point/water and iga only minutes away.

Lovely quiet camp . Toilet no showers. Spots near boat ramp for vans , some spots around just have to drive around. We found flat spot up hill for van . Apparently can get very busy . Close to Oberon. Can get water at apex park . Loved it ! Mayfield gardens is a must .
