I had an average experience here but I expected a bit more as it's quite pricey.The place is a bit overcrowded as we had to squeeze through between tables and chairs. We went for Sunday dinner.Out of 5 dishes we had, I was happy with two which is lamb and pita bread. An okay with two dishes which were grilled goat chesse and beef sausage even though I think portion is quite small compared to the price.Looking forward to have grilled octopus but ... it was really chewy and not pleasant to eat as I had to keep chewing and chewing. The dressing was a bit plain too so we asked for lemon. Service was okay, not overly friendly or cold. They did forget our bread after we had already half of lamb and asked if it's coming. My partner would come back to try another dishes but I probably wouldn't. At least, we tried so you should too.

Delicious scrumptious seafood platter. Beautiful Greek salad & veggies.Try the Blue bottle sparkling water.Lovely friendly service.Definitely coming back here again.

First time diners at Agapi which is surprising given it’s existed for over 50 years. The atmosphere downstairs was very warm but unfortunately despite booking for a pram we were squished into the teeniest corner which was super impractical so we had to move upstairs.The top half of the venue is certainly more spacious but on the downside it doesn’t have as much character. Food wise I found the dishes not overly generous which was disappointing as if it not characteristic of Mediterranean hospitality. The meals were enjoyable but not value for money given the portion size. Equating to just over $50 per person without alcohol and no dessert I’d expect to be full upon departure

Best Greek food in Melbourne. Probably Australia! Being a Richmond kid I've been coming here for 40 years and it's perfection every single time. Literally cannot fault anything about it. Killing it, Tim! xx

It was a cozy, neat ambiance. Ive heard that the restaurant been standing for decades. Remained serving its customers for generations. The wines are great. They serve the best food platter of mixed seafood, fish and meat , and it was very delicious, all in one platter. The fish was tasty too. Another great food experience was the Calamari, crispy yet the meat was soft .. I highly recommend you order it. And hey, dont forget the dessert and coffee to end a sumptous meal.

I got delivery from here the other night - I foolishly ordered Lamb Gyros - because it was 25$ I figured it would come with at least something but nope, just a pile of kebab meat.The meat quality was fine (but at 25$ it should be amazing). This is obvious to a lot of people probably, but the majority of restaurants label their stuff on the delivery menu or add pictures very clearly so people know what they're getting.I also ordered Keftedes which was IMO very high quality and the roast potatoes were decent too. I think if you're gonna offer delivery, you should lift your game a bit.

Tried this restaurant after being recommended by a friend and was disappointed. The service was very poor, our waitress forgot some of our order and never apologised for the mistake. When we wanted a drink we had to wave somebody down, there were not proactive and checking in on us even though it was a quiet night. The food wasn’t terrible but it also wasn’t great. Some items were over cooked or very small serving sizes. Overall, I wouldn’t rush back nor recommend to any of my friends or family.

Agapi Restaurant - Melbourne
Agapi was a Greek restaurant best suited for group lunches and dinners. We went here for lunch and ordered a variety of their platters and sides and were not left disappointed. There were a lot seafood and meat dish options and their portions were generous. The saganaki, octopus and prawns/seafood platter were my personal favourites. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Overall we were pretty happy with our dining experience.

Fantastic and authentic Greek restaurant in a Melbourne. The food is brilliant and always well prepared. The owner is very friendly and great to chat with. I go to this restaurant regularly and it never fails to impress! Great location for a dinner on the way to concerts and sports matches in Melbourne, or for a nice dinner evening! Also a nice selection of wine, beer and non alcoholic drinks.
