Fosters Ace Auto Repairs

I was quoted $$$ for a (hard to find) part by a dealership, and gave Fosters a call, they sourced the part for 1/4 the price, and during the service found a few other budding problems the dealership missed. Preventative maintenance is much cheaper than repair.That was a few years ago, and the quality of their work since has continued to be excellent. As long as I'm in Townsville, this will be my mechanic of choice.

Great local service. They do the RACQ inspections so you know that you can trust them.

Poor communication from staff. Dropped car in early, called once to say they needed to pull things apart to fault find, then no further communication after that and didn’t even look at the car and then closed for the day. No issues on mechanical work done on previous times visited.

Great place for getting your car or any vehicle repaired.They are up front and honest and hide nothing from you about what needs doing to your said vehicle.

Nearly the worst mechanic's ever. Charged for things that were not done, a,c news has worked again, fine,before .Arrogant old man. Did not fix, But made worse. And charged $2000 for the privilege. Said things were not even possible. Rubber in fuel lines, then another story,and another .Make mechanics look really bad.

The ladies at the front office where very lovely to speak to and very helpful. I will use there service again. Very satisfied customer from a very efficient business.

First class so far, it's great when you explain to the staff at the front counter what's wrong with your car and they know what it is

Honesty is always a good policy.I must say, we have all heard horror stories about mechanics ripping off the vulnerable and it is always difficult letting go of your hard earned money to pay for a mechanical service. We all should accept that parts cost money.However, I have not met a more honest and transparent business such as Fosters Ace. My bomb of a van broke down and was towed to this establishment. The business was recommended by a local and they did not disappoint.The receptionist was very helpful, the shop was very busy after an extra long weekend, and were honest about the repairs. I had reported a problem to the business and they did their investigations thoroughly. They even saved me money by not replacing a component that did not need replacing, when they could have easily done the opposite.This locally owned mechanical business is highly recommended if you want an honest opinion and quality service, you have found it. Do not be scared off by reviews that are based on wanting something for nothing. These guys deliver.
