Varieties of Birds are there. The Flight show is awesome. There are few reptiles along with koala and kangaroos. Worth a visit.

I love going to the zoo with kids. It is not just a fun day for us, it is also educational. There are 3 zoos managed by Zoo Victoria. Melbourne Zoo is the place you can see animals from overseas. (elephant, Giraffe etc). You can take on a ride to see the animals running around at Werribee Open Range Zoo. In Healesville Sanctuary, you will learn what we can do to protect the environment and these lovely animals. The Spirits of the Sky show is exceptionally good.

Such a well thought out zoo. There is so much thought, care that went into the visitors experience (with thorough info about each and ever animal) as well as the animal’s well being which I know is a hard balance to strike but they definitely set the bar high. Not only that but there’s an animal hospital that helps bring additional awareness to what we all can do to care for wildlife as a whole. It takes more than 2 hours to walk the entire zoo, but it’s just so amazing that time will fly!

Visiting from England, this was our first up close experience of Australia's famous marsupials and my daughter (13) fell in love with them! I think we only scratched the surface of what the park had to offer, but we focused on the Australian animals before heading into the Yarra Valley vineyards. The koalas were cute, but pretty sleepy, so not much to see. More action from the kangaroos, but some of the other animals were also amazing to see. Highly recommended, but worth spending more than a couple of hours to fully see what this extensive sanctuary had to offer. MLS

Loved it here, the flying presentation is unbelievably good, so much so we hung around for the 2nd show, so much history and cultural knowledge from the staff made ya realize how much work and good these zoo's do, glad to be a zoo member and knowing my membership is going towards conservation

I am not an animal person. Not even close. But being up close and personal with kangaroos and koalas, well, that’s something else. Healesville Sanctuary, in the east of Melbourne is a small sanctuary for Australia’s native animals including beloved koalas and plenty of scary looking creatures. You can arrange some close-up encounters where you can cuddle with cute koalas (careful, they bite!) or feed kangaroos out of your hand. It’s one of those things that will turn any adult into a kid in an instant.

Absolutely loved this place. The animals are so well cared for and the staff are so obliging and helpful. The Australian Govt. really looks after it's wild life and Natural habitat. I have great admiration for this country.

An extra star for their brilliant vision and management. Attention has been focused on the detail given to the care of each animal and in some exhibit-animal home areas you can get very close to the animals and feed the birds. Children of all ages are fascinated with the walk and show. We spent a good amount of time in the animal hospital

We had an excellent day here. All the animals have great homes, non of the old caged in zoo feel. My top tips for visiting are: if you want to get close to any of the animals go on line well before your visit to pre-book 'encounters', if your there in the afternoon take food because the restaurant and kiosks run out, don't miss out the small birds bit and at the moment there is a baby koala off to the right BEFORE you go in (so cute and this is before you pay to go In! )
