I absolutely adore this place. The interior and menu are beautifully put together and the coffee is just divine. I've lost count of the number of times I've been here but it is a delight every time. I could not recommend Kaede more highly to anyone!

Came here for a quick morning coffee and lunch and I was not expecting coffee this amazing and food this good. We ordered two iced pour overs and two sandos. The chicken sando was delicious, but the egg sando was absolutely delicious. The umami of the egg sando was perfect and with the toasted bread...it was just amazing. When we got the two coffees, they were very delicious and it was fun comparing the two different beans. The staff were amazing as well!

Not sure if this is the Japanese fluffy milk bread, but they definitely tasted like the wholemeal bread from woolies. The chicken Katau was nicely seasoned, but the egg sando was plain and dry with those breads…The matcha was decent, but hojicha was a bit watery…Overall a bit let down by the experience, especially when you browse through reviews and had that high expectation.

100/10 for their authentic chai latte or matcha latte. Perfect smell&taste. Nice blend. Personally, I rated it as one of the best chai or matcha lattes in Melbourne. Super-welcoming staff. A soothing vibe to sit, relax, and enjoy the drink.

Such care and attention goes into Kaede’s food. The vegan agedashi teishoku is sublime. Subtle and perfectly balanced flavours - we would come back again for more!

Loved the amazing coffee and traditional Japanese food. The egg sando was soft and tasty, the chicken sausage pan was soft and tasty and the Salmon set was just what I was looking for. Thank you very much!

We were cruising through Melbourne, when a little hunger asked me to pull over and have a delicious brunch with a tasty coffee. Lucky enough we just past Admiral Cheng Ho. We quickly stopped, looked, and found a parking and walked into the cozy, stylish café.First, I needed a thirst quencher and ordered the Yuzu Soda! WOW… what a zesty splash. Perfect for a hot autumn day. Then I ordered a tasty batch brew, which came in the – by far – most beautiful cup I ever sipped coffee from. Finally, I enjoyed my (well deserved) lunch… TEISHOKU LUNCH with salmon, accompanied by a salad, pickles, rice and a miso soup.Who said then Melbournian coffee culture is only about coffee? The longer I stay here in Melbourne, the more I am convinced it is all about delicious food AND tasty coffee. What an amazing experience… to the next one!

Lovely little Japanese restaurant! The katsu teishoku was delicious - the perfect ratio of katsu to side dishes. The katsu sando was pleasant however the bread was a little on the dry side. The egg sando was alright although I think it would be better without the cucumber. The hojicha latte was more authentic- true hojicha rather than powder, however this made it a lot weaker than most other hojicha lattes I’ve had. I think it would be better if it was a little stronger in hojicha flavour and maybe even a little sweeter, at the moment it is just milky. Overall the food was delicious and I would love to go again!
