The location is great, but that's where the positives end.- The advertised fireplace requires you to BYO wood and matches (what a joke).- The peaceful stay was interrupted by the paper thin walls so we could hear literally everything in the room next door!- The fridge was more of a wine cooler, and did not actually keep anything cold- The aircon was so unbelievably loud we couldn't keep it on, and with the mid 30's day we'd just had, the room was a saunaVery expensive for what is closer to a motel than a retreat away! Avoid this place at all costs!RESPONSE: My partner contacted your staff prior to our visit, and was left bewildered by how rude and aggressive they were. Even your response here shows zero empathy and shifts the blame to us. Outrageous!

Nickett the host was horrible to deal with.We had to cancel our stay due to Covid travel restrictions and they kept the entire $200 we had paid towards the accommodation.When I asked for a refund Nickett offered nothing and told me to stop messaging and I would get nothing.I tried to make contact since and I get ignored.All I wanted was my money back and even offered to split it $100 each but the greedy owner kept the full $200 and there is nothing I can do about it.I hope this email helps others stay away from this place

The level of customer service is actually shocking. No comparison or understanding, I'd advise to look elsewhere.And the reply below is pretty poor form as well as it is false information.On the day of our stay it was pretty certain that Victoria would be going into a lockdown for a time frame unknown. So prior to check in, I asked if there was a lock down what they could do regarding our stay.We received no response, so when we did hear that Victoria was going into a 5 day lockdown, we decided that we couldn't stay at this location or accommodation because:1 - Under lockdown you can't go further than 5k from your residence2 - Everything we were planning on going to or doing was shut due to the lockdown3 - Even though the check in was hours prior to lockdown, if this meant we could stay, we were then saying this is our main residence and then can't leave for the 5 days unless for the 4 main reasons.We also confirmed that this was the case with the government department dealing with COVID 19 enquiries.We asked the hotel that based on this would they eitherA - look at a refundB - Reschedule our stay to a time that we can come and enjoy our time away.The Accommodation chose to ignore both options.This is why they are truely a terrible business, every other company we were scheduled to go to were happy to help.Shows that they care more for themselves rather than returning customers.

Like some other reviewers, I had a poor experience when COVID lockdown meant I was unable to stay. Despite the owners (who never revealed a person's name during any of our correspondence) advising me that they had received government assistance and could provide me with a refund or credit, I have had no response in months to my enquiries about the status of the issue. No doubt they will respond to this review with a personal attack (as they have to some of the other negative reviewers) accusing me of not being understanding of their situation etc. They have not bothered to respond to my emails, they still have my money and haven't even offered a credit for a future stay.

We stayed in the Etna Cottage. Very private and secluded. The large corner spa was great. We’ll be back!

Update: owners have left a response claiming drug use and a exemption to travel. Neither are true. I did not produce a exemption nor do I use drugs. Its true I drink but geez guys, that's low. I suggest people read Tudor Cottage reviews and thier unprofessional, immature responses and find out exactly what you are dealing with. We got time stamped pics of the dump before we left so we have evidence of exactly how we left it. Im not silly. We are seeking legal advice regarding this defamatory comment which we can prove is untrue. Wow, just wow.Original review- Not a cheap stay at all but a very cheap experience. I would say almost $200 a night is expensive but worth it if your accommodation is at least clean. It's dirty, outdated, cheap finishes, not at all secluded like it says in the advertisement and a overall rip off. We have stayed in much nicer for much less. Don't be fooled by the pics. Run down, uncared for and smells of mould. Just a bit of TLC, very little investment and some effort could make for a much nicer experience.
