A wonderful walk back in time with working blacksmiths in amongst giant heavy machinery used to work on steam trains and more modern rail trains - worth a visit

This is a great course. My fear was that we'd spend half a day learning about the physics of metals and WHS considerations. Nup. Compact safety brief, walk around the workshop then fire up the forges and start heating and bashing iron - awesome. Great project, great instructor, highly recommended course.

Had an amazing time doing the two knives in two days course with Mat. He's a wonderful teacher. I learnt a lot and really enjoyed myself! Make sure you give plenty of pats to Shanghai while you're there!

I was gifted a knife making course for my 40th. It was awesome. Matt is a total legend who clearly loves what he does and it shows in the delivery and attitude. The workshop is mad, heaps of room, good gear etc plus it looks insane. The two days were thoroughly enjoyable and I ended up with a sweet knife at the end of it. I can't recommend doing one of these courses enough if you have any interest or if you're stuck for a great gift. It's supporting craftspeople and local business and that is a very good thing.

Did the two day knife-making blacksmith course. Was an absolute blast. Small classes mean you get plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn from knowledgeable and passionate teachers. Building is steeped in blacksmith history, it's like a journey back in time. Course was well planned which means you get to go home with a knife you're super proud of. Definitely recommend to anyone of any skill level!

Incredible experience, would 100% recommend. I did the 2 day knife making course with my family, with Matt as the instructor. He was patient, funny and very willing to help and guide us through the process. He also has an amazing understanding of the both the craft and its history, explaining everything, including all our hundreds of questions, in detail which was very interesting. It was decently challenging, and Matt was kind enough to help me create a custom knife, which was very cool for the both of us. If your interested in metalworks and blacksmithing, this is the place.

I did the intro to Knife-making course with Matt over the weekend and I cannot stop fangirling. I had an absolute blast. Matt was so knowledgeable and patient and made sure that each of us came out with the most beautiful knife. It was awesome how we each started with the same materials, worked the same processes and yet ended up with very unique pieces. The workshop is amazing and to be surrounded by so much Australian history was inspiring. I will be doing another class as soon as I can! Thank you Matt :)
