Straddie Kingfisher Tours

We had the best day ever on Stradbroke Island on a Kingfisher Tour with our great host Dave!Started with a beach run down to Amity Point where we saw a heap of wildlife in their natural habitat. Lots of kangaroo's, (must be well fed over there as some were huge!) follow up with spotting Koala's munching away on their gum leaves. Off to the beach side and stroll along the Amity jetty, Had hoped to spot a dolphin and we were not disappointed, a whole pod was hanging out and seemed very interested in us! An unexpected bonus was a Manta Ray cruising by in the crystal clear water.All this sounds good but the best was yet to come, we all hoped back into Dave's Landcruiser and headed off to Brown Lake for a swim is this stunning freshwater lake. The brown colour is stain from the tee-tree's, the water is beautiful not dirty at all. After a picnic lunch by the lake we head off for a bit of 4WD through the central part of the island before hitting the surf beach.It is absolutely stunning. Not another sole just us and nature, sea eagles soaring above and dolphins riding the waves. Doesn't get much better except for Dave's home made damper washed down with billy tea.Great Day, thanks Dave

We’ve just had the morning kayaking with Dave. What a wonderful experience. Excellent knowledge really helpful and the best thing we have done on straddle so far. Dolphins and stingrays were a bonus. Can highly recommend

We are a NDIS support service from the Sunshine Coast, who have visited the beautiful North Stradbroke Island for a group STA/Respite. All of our 15 clients and staff have loved the eco tour with Dave, learning alot about the beautiful Stradbroke. Would definitely recommend for any NDIS support services, wanting to get out on an adventure with a beautiful morning tea and lunch. We had Kim as our guide and I can confidently say that she was the best tour guide we've ever had and we have travelled extensively! Full of local knowledge, great sence of humour and a genuinely lovely person. This tour is a must for first timers to Straddie. It shows you areas you would not find on your own. We also tacked on sand boarding at the end of the island tour and my 65 year old mother in law from England nailed it! Highly recommended!

My girls aged (9 and 11) and myself spent the day on Straddie with Dave this past weekend. We were treated to a lot of knowledge about the island, as well as seeing all the glorious sites.I loved that we were able to access parts of the island that I would never have been able to with my own vehicle.We saw a lot of wildlife, swam in pristine waters and left with our bellies full.Thank you Dave for your wonderful hospitality.

Kim was amazing and the experience wonderful as well as very affordable. She was flexible, understanding and accommodating of our circumstances. Her knowledge and experience got us out of a tricky situation when my awd got bogged down. Highly recommend this experience for anyone going to straddie.

We took the 4WD EcoTour with Dave and it was soo much fun! Dave took us around the island where we could not do it with our own vehicle. The trip includes the Main Beach where we stopped to find some pipis and spotted whale passing by then off to Brown Lake for morning tea. Dave gave us a demonstration on how to brew the tea in a billy - the cool way to do it. Then we proceed inland where we could view both Brisbane and Moreton Island from the highest point of the Island. Then to Amity point for koala sightings in its nature and lunch at Flinders Beach. Dave is very knowledgeable given his long experience in doing the tour. All in all good day spent. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went on a kayaking tour with Dave. Our only regret is that we chose to do a short tour. The weather was great and the scenery was wonderful. Dave is clearly knowledgeable about his island and the local wildlife. We will be back.
