Theakstone Home Improvements recently completed a renovation on our home and the results are outstanding! Not in our wildest dreams did we think our home could look so good and we highly recommend Theakstone Home Improvements for all renovations and building work. Quite simply we are extatic by the result and quality of work produced.When we decided to renovate our home, the gravity of what we were about to undertake overwhelmed us very quickly. We would have to find all the different trades, schedule them and supervise the quality of what each trade was doing. What if something ran overtime or went wrong? How would it effect the next trade, cost and timing of the project?We very quickly realised we were in over our heads, we didn’t have the time or knowledge to undertake a project of this magnitude by ourselves.That’s when we decided we needed to find someone who could do it all for us, that we trusted, had our best interests at heart and would deliver a high standard of work and customer service. That’s when we found Theakstone Home Improvements and we are so happy we did.From our initial meeting with Matt we were so impressed. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and eager to win our business. Matt even came out after hours so we could both meet him and discuss our vision. Unlike other people we had met with, Matt didn’t make us feel silly or make it sound too hard.Throughout the quotation period and in fact the renovation process Matt continued to impress. On several occasions he would be on site until late in the evening and even on the weekend to keep the renovation on schedule. One of the main things that impressed us about Matt was his commitment to safety. He has a high standard of safety for the job site, the client and all the trades on site. This was quite refreshing as we know that with some other companies that this is not as much of a consideration.We were also very impressed with Matt’s extremely high standards when it comes to the work being completed and the finished result. Unlike other companies that have a get in and get out mentality, Matt is dedicated to doing it properly and to the highest standard.Matt has a great team behind him and one of the most noteable is Shannon. Shannon is refreshingly one of the hardest working employees that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is an absolute asset to Matt and Theakstone Home Improvements.From all his hard work behind the scenes with the quotation, selections, organising the materials and trades to his hard work onsite, Shannon has the same high standards and dedication as Matt.Shannon was always onsite before the trades to update us on the progress of the job, address any concerns we may have and to go through the specifics with the trades. He is friendly, personable and passionate about what he does which made the process so much easier.Both Matt and Shannon were constantly checking that we were happy and if we had any concerns. They both genuinely want the customer to be happy at every stage and go above and beyond to make that happen.As with every renovation there were unforeseen events and occurrences but when these issues did arise both Matt and Shannon came to us with a solution and did not try to price gauge us, they were sensitive to the fact that we were working to a budget.All the other trades from the electrician, renderer, painters, roofers, scaffolders, air conditioning specialists, carpenters and cleaners were all highly professional, polite and courteous. Matt and Shannon did a great job of managing them and keeping them accountable. If they were not happy or we were not happy with a particular aspect of the job Matt and Shannon would get the trades back to fix it and never made us feel like it was an imposition.Overall we highly recommend Theakstone Home Improvements and we will be getting them back in the future. When we chose Theakstone Home Improvements to carry out significant renovations to our property, we made a good choice. Initially we asked six builders for quotations and Theakstone's quote although not the cheapest definitely stood out for its professional presentation and detailed description of what services they would provide. Their website made the progress of the renovations easy to follow and the message system is very helpful. Communications with the client is very important and in our opinion this is one of Theakstone's strengths which made our project proceed well.All the staff went out of their way to look after us and address any issues or problems we had in a prompt friendly manner. We did have a few things not go to plan but when these issues did arise they were dealt with and sorted out quickly. We were consulted about each part of the project and this made us feel comfortable and included in details of the work that was being done. Theakstones value site safety highly with scaffolding and safety rails around the house which were all part of the renovation deal and site gates which had to be locked nightly ensured the security of materials did not prove to be an imposition for us. The site was left as tidy as possible and rubbish was removed as soon as practical which made living with the building works easier on a day to day basis. An onsite toilet was great value and ensured that the contractors were comfortable.Generally the sub-contractors were good and well supervised and when we did have a problem with a group of roofers, this was dealt with and these roofers were replaced with another group who were excellent. They tried to protect our garden as best they could and there was minor damage but this can be repaired at a later time.The weather did cause delays but doing work as we had done over winter has a degree of luck and that had to be accepted. Overall we are very happy with the final result and would definitely recommend Theakstone Home Improvements for any building or renovation project for which they offer quotation and we plan to ask them to carry out some further work in the near future.Jann and Chris Tate. Leighton and Helen Crabb: we had walls removed to convert an office, family room, dining room and kitchen into one area. The end result was excellent - very well done. Matt and Shannon were always very approachable as were their contractors. If we had any ideas which weren’t practical they not only said so but offered alternatives. We never had a problem contacting them. We were very satisfied with their providers.

Dishonest.Extremely poor quality workmanship.Don't trust a word this guy says.Do not use this business.And yes, there is no mistaking businesses here.Employ this business at your peril.

After a spate of dealing with lackluster, under-performing builders, we were so pleased to find by recommendation Matt and his crew for our renovation work.Professional, extremely courteous, (this was very important as the reno was being undertaking whilst we were still living in the house!) and quite thorough.Matt's estimate was on target and within our budget and there were no hidden costs to unpleasantly pop up anywhere throughout the process or after.Matt and his crew treated the property with respect at all times and in several instances went above and beyond expectations in regard to ensuring the property was secure at all times, particularly when we were at work.We have found our go-to builder for all future projects.

Matt & his team recently did the construction part of our bathroom extension plus added a window and some lighting. Throughout the project we found all trades to be professional, highly skilled and their communication was excellent.Matt's on line portal makes it easy for clients to see every aspect of the job. I also liked the progressive payment setup.We are very pleased with the outcome of our project and intend to call on his services again next year.We would highly recommend Matt & his team for any home improvements.

We initially contacted Theakstone to remove a wall in a house and ended up engaging them to renovate our whole home.It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are to them for the incredible amount of hard work they put into getting our home renovated by our deadline.Throughout the process of basically gutting the old home and creating a whole (beautiful!!) new one, we were blown away by Matt and Shannon’s dedication and attention to detail. They treated the job (and our budget) as if it was their own. Halina was always extremely helpful with any questions we had in relation to how the budget was going. And Connor was hard-working and an absolute pleasure to deal with.When unexpected issues arose Matt and Shannon were quick to bring them to our attention and talk them through. They were so incredibly easy and great to deal with at all times, even when we could see how tired they were.Super nice guys – always.The job site was kept incredibly keen and Shannon went above and beyond by dealing with the neighbours and sorting issues out so we weren’t bothered.Matt, Shannon, Connor and Halina have a work ethic and approach which absolutely blew us away. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Theakstone to anyone and hope we get the opportunity to work with them again some day.5 stars really isn’t enough for this crew!

Absolutely fantastic Reno by Matt and his team......attention to detail 110%. The small project turned out just as I imagined and Matt ensured every inch of the way that we were on the same page. The project was finished within the timeline and all tradies arrived as booked. Tradesmen were all very professional and respectful of my property and even tolerated my ankle biting dogs!! And final thanks to Matt for being on site today to ensurethat the job was up to his high standards. Love your work Matt!!
