Intuitive Art Therapy

Joseph and Olga are both deeply caring people, they want to meet people where they really are, be with them and gently offer them new ways of seeing, without treating people as broken objects to be fixed by someone who isn't themselves broken in their own ways. Their complementary personalities play off each other wonderfully, and the idea of exploring therapy through the prism of artistic expression is a great one I think. Instead of first treating therapy as merely a process of confronting one's trauma head on, the participants are first invited to reconnect with themselves as creative agents in the world. They begin with the deep knowing that comes from participation in the act of creation itself, restoring a fundamental dignity and hope in the soul, and perhaps giving the participants the pattern whereby they can gather the broken aspects of themselves, much as they first gather the disparate art materials, and bring them back into relation with each other, restoring an inner communion of their being. This kind of real, participatory act of putting oneself together through creation and beauty far exceeds any acts of rational investigation in it's ability to heal, in my estimation.
