Very nice room with a view of the lake, good amenities (dyson hairdryer was appreciated), and really nice quality shower products. Great location, only a 10 minute walk to Canberra centre and good restaurants. Dinner at the in-house restaurant was tasty (I had the steak), my only complaint is that when sitting outside for dinner there are no tables at the right height for eating.

Went to the restaurant for dinner Tuesday 17 January and had the best service from Sarah. Not only was she upbeat and welcoming, she worked spectacularly with the other floor and wait staff. The meals were terrific, steaks cooked to perfection. Sarah and staff made my friend and me feel welcome and provided the perfect interaction a customer could want. Congratulations QT.

Writing this review is difficult because I really, really wanted to love the QT Canberra. I've stayed in a few other of their hotels and they have all been lovely however, I can't say the same for this particular one.The positives were that the lobby and restaurant/bar area were beautifully decorated, very funky. It was fun looking around and taking in all the quirky bits and pieces. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel but the restaurant looked great, I do wish that we had had time to give it a try.Other than that, there wasn't a lot of positives. The rooms were dated, it seemed like the hotel spent their entire budget on the lobby and then didn't bother too much with the rooms. There were fun bits of decor in the room but the room itself really needs an upgrade. The bathroom door was broken, with the wood and paint both chipped. The grout/floor in the bathroom desperately needed a good clean. There was very little dusting done, the room absolutely could have been cleaner. The bedding was uncomfortable. Our duvet was two double bed duvets sandwiched in between two sheets and open at the top. This meant that they kept slipping around during the night and were impossible to keep together. It was also difficult to use as it it was open at the top. I brought this up to the front desk and was told by a thoroughly unhelpful gentleman that that was how the duvet was and that was it. Add to this, the mattress sheet didn't have elastic around the edge, it was essentially just a top sheet tucked in, so it was continually coming out from under the bed and bunching up.The service at the hotel was, AT BEST, average. The location is good, within walking distance to lots of nice cafes and restaurants so that is a plus. Overall, I suggest staying somewhere else. The QT Canberra was absolutely not worth what we paid, the room and service were disappointing, and that's sad to say considering how excellent the other QTs are.

If you’ve been to QT Sydney and expect anything close to that, you’ll be sorely disappointed though it should be acknowledged that this particular hotel presents itself as 4 star not Sydney’s 5 star.Stayed here for two nights in a King room and I must say this hotel is borderline 2-3 star at best. The lobby and bar areas do look modern but the rooms are where it’s a letdown. The air conditioning is very dated and not even digital. The bed linen was so rough and the pillows were the worst I’ve ever slept on in a hotel - each of them were so incredibly high your neck aches all night and barely slept a wink both nights. There’s in room dining available but the menu is very limited and very expensive with no kids friendly options and they forgot part of the dish so had to deliver twice upon calling. Only upside of the room was the balcony - fresh air is rare in hotels. Wifi was also weak so we couldn’t stream anything and had to rely on our own 5G. Parking is also extremely limited underground especially if you have an EV be warned other guests will park in them due to desperate measures and the hotel staff openly admitted they don’t do anything about it. There are plenty of “true” 4 star hotels in Canberra don’t waste your money here.

Had a terrible sleep despite being very tired, due to uncomfortable lumpy pillows, exposed inner blankets, dated heating/cooling system (see picture), and light coming through from the corridor. The rooms feel aged, but are dressed up with modern looking decor. Remove the decor and it feels like a 3 star hotel.Breakfast is extremely overpriced. Ordered room service in the morning. Paid $22 for half an avocado on one piece of toast, and $8 for a cold pressed orange juice, which turned out to be a tiny 250ml pre-packaged bottle.

For renovated rooms the hotels ok and clean. Like all qt hotels there a quirky edge which I enjoy for a refreshing change to the usual rooms we stay in.Beds are comfortable, shower is good, room service is wonderful and the restaurant down stairs for breakfast was good. Highly recommended the mushrooms. The hotel is a bit of a walk from other restaurants, pubs and shops compared to some other hotels I stay in Canberra.

The QT was a beautiful, quirky and enjoyable place to stay. Close by to the city as well as the main roads North/South and ANU. Such great views. The staff were fantastic - kind, responsive, helpful. The restaurant had a really cool vibe and decor and the food was delicious and unique. My room was a bit out of date (the heating/cooling system was very old fashion & the bathroom had poor ventilation) but the beds were super comfortable and the shower was nice. I will be coming back next time I need to stay in Canberra.

Having stayed in Sydney and Melbourne QT I was expecting good things. I shouldn’t have. It’s clear the investment has primarily been made on the lobby and bar/restaurant whereas the rooms need a serious renovation. My room was quite tired, flaking paint, odd smell like damp, aircon which refused to go to heat (an issue when the outside temp is below 0C) and a blocked shower drain which eventually caused the bathroom and hallway to flood - hence the damp smell.Definitely better accomm in Canberra at this price point.

I’ve previously stayed at the QT Canberra hotel and really liked the spacious room and the views. Went out last week for dinner and absolutely loved the food. The service on the other hand… was slow, and stuff was an attentive which is such a shame. Because the food was so good!

Absolutely awful. I heard bad reviews but stayed because my conference was held here. BIG MISTAKE.The heating didn't work and the manager couldn't get it to work either, so I was given a personal heater. No offer to move my room. The tap dripped. The basin didn't hold water, so there was a stream of water across the floor to the shower. Half the toilet flush worked. Old foil rubbish left in a corner. Sliding door so heavy you need to be Arnold Schwarzenegger to close it. Dodgy stains on the seat. It was absolutely appalling. Also, no bath, and the gym was a ten minute walk away in the dark. I can't put into words how rubbish the hotel was, it was so shocking. DO NOT RECOMMEND :(I was so desperate to move, at 10pm at night I walked around the block in the cold Canberra winter to find somewhere else to stay. I went to Peppers, which was magnificent. They were so understanding. Go there instead. Peppers is a wonderful place. Felt like home. Heritage building. Comfy. QT=rubbish, Peppers=gold.
