Staff were helpful. Food is good. It was pouring when we came and the place was packed on Saturday lunch time. Best to call for reservation to ensure you have a table.

Really nice cozy little German restaurant. Couple of fire places music and German food.Food was really a tale of two halves. My wife had the pork belly which was presented a bit dull and tasted average. I had the Captain Hahn Dog Role and a plate of chips. This was great the dog role was full of flavor and beautifully presented and the chips where fresh and crispy.This whole meal and a Cider and softdrink cost us $91 on public holiday, so not badly priced either.Can recommend this place!

Such a nice German restaurant in Hahndorf with great food and a cool atmosphere. My wife and I visited this cosy place for the first time for lunch during the weekend, and we had an enjoyable meal. we had Cheese Kransky" and "Chicken Focaccias" which were both delicious. Our food got prepared fast

Though we would try the German Inn during our stay in Hahndorf. The Sausage platter lured us in and for good reason. A giant pile of (probably) authentic sausages beautifully prepared with a massive pork chop, pretzel and what felt like a spoon of mash and sauerkraut. Let me be clear, this plate is pure protein. 100% order this dish but get it to share with someone and also order a salad or any other vegetable.Otherwise we also got the schnitzel (big but average) and the lambs fry (overcooked). Not the best coffee in town by any means.To end on a high note, the service was amazing and the German potato salad I wished was served by the kilo because that was perfection. Best potato salad I have ever had. Check it out if you are in the area.

Huge servings (more than enough for 2 even though we were starving). Sausage platter can get overwhelming, the ratio of side dishes to meat was lacking

Tried the sausage platter (ideally shared with 2 people) and American ribs (no pictures as I got distracted by the food). The sausages were alright and was quite salty. The pretzel was very salty but it had a crispy outer texture with soft bread-like fluffiness on the inside. The American ribs were not too bad though - the fries they came with were del ious and the BBQ sauce was not too overpowering. The ribs melted off the bone and were very tender. Overall, not too bad of a restaurant but wouldn’t rave about it.

Not satisfied at all, terrible food and service. The Garlic bread was not even cut and served burnt. Paella was a Basmati rice with full of unnecessary vegetables which seemed like a Chinese fried rice with weird fish on top. The BBQ grilled platter was bland. The pork belly is harder than a wood. The lamb chops were smelly. The Vienna coffee is mediocre. Also, Milo is way better than their advertised Belgian dark hot chocolate, totally tasteless. Absolutely not worth for its price.

The service was quite quick even though the restaurant was almost full and the portions were generous.It was so peaceful to sit and eat by the fire when the rain was pouring outside.
