Really good experience! So many artefacts from a variety of time periods! There's something for everyone with everything from clothing to machinery. I was particularly interested in how the advertising and packaging of products has changed over time!

Great country town, great heritage buildings, a stately hotel, antique shops, beautiful wide main street with a grassed middle strip all the way down the main road.Friendly people as country folk are. The Folk Meuseum & War Meuseum are spectacular.

Exhibits in the Bowraville Folk Museum cover almost every area of folk life in the Nambucca Valley. Some of our more significant displays include a log cabin inhabited by an early pioneer family, the local Presbyterian Church which was relocated to the grounds of the museum and the Boarding House set from the locally filmed The Umbrella Woman which featured Bryan Brown, Rachel Ward and Sam Neill. There is also a working Blacksmith’s Forge and several other items of working machinery plus an extensive display of everyday items from our local area. The fascinating museum building was originally a General Store and was then the Headquarters of the Voluntary Defence Corps during World War 2. It continued to operate a Department Store until the Museum opened in 1970.There is a large collection of newspaper clippings, the most famous from the London Gazette Friday August 19, 1768 with an article about a secret voyage by Captain James Cook. It's a great read. Copies are available for $5.50.The Eve Knight collection lapidary collection features a large range of rocks, crystals & glowing rocks. A Children's Museum is also on the site where they are encouraged to explore the objects on display.

This is a quaint little store in a very quiet town. There are gifts here for everyone, definitely worth a look. The whole town is set well off the highway but it is worth exploring.Parking is a little bit limited, but there are cafes near by for you to sit and enjoy after you've bought some goodies.

One of the best museums I have seen. Give yourself sometime to spend at this place, as there's plenty to see. The nice lady at the reception was very kind & shared plenty of information with us. Ticket price was very cheap so were the gifts. That made me feel a bit guilty for paying so less. Haha!

Bowraville Folk MuseumThe place I honour as this is where I found the wonderful reputation of my Maternal Great Grandmother CoulterGreat Grandmother Coulter was loved by the Aboriginal People of the districtShe had run a convenience store in the town, was always generous, thoughtful and kindGreat Grandmother was non racist, she loved all peopleThe Spirits of our Aboriginal People took me on this path of self discovery after my heart had been broken...My spirit now soars confirmation and understanding of a SPIRITUAL WORLD FAR BEYOND !

This would have to be one of the best regional museums I have been to. Situated on the main street, the museum is spread over several buildings. Each grouping is based around a themed area. For example there is a room devoted to a turn of last century bedroom. There is an old barbers shop. A mock up of a laundry, a school room. Each area then has a heap of items relating to that theme.Moving out of the main building you go into a covered courtyard which has stacks of garage, pub and agricultural exhibits. For me the highlight is the push button connection whereby you press a button and the machine comes to life showing you how it would have worked.Beyond the courtyard is an old original Church which is full of religious memorabilia.Do not go here expecting a quick walk through. I stayed for an hour and could easily have stayed for much longer.

The most amazing collection of historical items. Much more than many museums I've visited. A real asset to the charming town of Bowraville.
