Very pleasantly surprised! This is probably the last of the traditional old chinese restaurants in the eastern suburbs that you usually find in regional towns. The food was really delicious - nothing fancy, but tasty, aromatic & abundant servings. Staff were friendly and the owner came out of the kitchen & did the rounds greeting guests at their tables & asking how everything was. Very nice experience and we'll be going back..... Oh.... and they even give you a Fortune Cookie at the end of the meal - haven't seen one of those in 15 years!

This has been a successful restaurant in Rose Bay for maybe 50 years. That tells you something.We turned up without a booking, but they made room for us anyway and made us feel very welcome. The waitress was a lot of fun which just added to the ambience. Great food. We all wished that we'd ordered more, so next time we'll order a main dish for each person.

Best Chinese in the east. I recommend the Mongolian lamb and long soup been going for years and absolutely love it. The service is lovely and the staff always know how to make you feel welcome.

Been a customer for over 17 years.Freshest Chinese food in the East by a longshot.Everything on the menu great. Especially honey King prawn, duck & squid.5 Star

This was the very fist local Chinese restaurant. And yes I notice that another review says it is not authentic Asian and may only meet Baby Boomer tastes. My father lived part- time in Asia and was very versed in authentic Asian food and still enjoys a meal at this establishment. What is authentic Asian food anyway? There is so much fusion in Sydney these days and in global restaurants.These people are also very kind, so I don't know what the bill review of one star is about. They have looked after all sorts of my needs for years.It has a nice ambience and by the way often has many Chinese people in it. So I don't know where that comment came from either. Vaucluse to date does not have a huge Asian contingent and it is a local restaurant.It has good consistent quality food.

We were looking for a place to eat locally. The food was great, not a long waiting time, we had veg gow her were delicious, roast duck (on the bone and chose to not have any sauce) was delicious. Veges and tofu were great. The flavours were clear and fresh. The staff are kind and friendly. It was a nice relaxed meal all round.
