RAC Auto Services Balcatta

My Ford Territory bottom end was knocking I figured it may be a bottom end issue however had RAC tow and inspect. They confirmed it was a bottom end issue. I was given a quote of $5280.89 to remove engine and dispose of it, replace engine with a low km engine and replace all fluids, belts and water pump. I was given a time frame when they expected to start however advised it could be earlier. RAC asked for a $2000 deposit.I was contacted by RAC and advised that the car was ready before the day they were due to even start working on the car which with me hiring a car to get around with worked out good.RAC then advised that the price ended up being much cheaper aswell $3713.49 that included aircon regas, new belt, water pump, thermostat and fluids. That worked out to be over $1500 left in my pocket.I would utilise them again should I require major work to be done.A special mention to Teresa from service centre who was very friendly and helping.

They booked me in for a service and spare parts were needed, I booked the date of service 7-8 days beforehand.On the day I booked in at 8.30 am, I got a call after one pm that afternoon saying they had ordered the wrong parts,I agreed to come back the following Monday and asked if they could contact me if anything had changed.Have heard nothing at all from them and the will not take any calls on their telephoneNot Impressed from RAC at all even their national Call centre could not assist me, expected better from an organisation this big.

I am very happy and appreciate of all the times RAC has been able to provide excellent service to my precious car.Staff are always kind and helpful, especially Ray, the mechanic who checked and diagnosed my car.It makes everything a lot better despite the given inconvenience of not having a car.Thank you RAC!!

Teresa on customer service was very friendly and took time to address and explain the issues with my car. My car is running better and I'm aware of the issues and price of work needing to be done.

I had my car serviced here today for the first time. Great staff very friendly, went through my account with me explained everything. I was impressed with how the car drove post service. I have definitely found my future car service centre. Thanks for a good job and making me feel welcome.

I took my car to a certain service (name withheld). The service charge fee was cheaper than RAC but the problems identified were quoted a ridiculous amount. I decided to seek a second opinion from RAC. The same same problems were identified but the prices were fair. There was a detailed explanation about the problems by RAC team. There was step to step excellent communication from RAC. Teresa is amazing. There was a bus that dropped me back and picked me in the evening from RAC. The bus driver was very friendly and courteous. There was tea and coffee and biscuits as I waited for my car to finish at the reception. Everything was just perfect. You've gained a new customer. I'm definitely gonna spread the great news to my friends

Car was making same noise when I picked it up. Guy driving it flat out said he couldn't hear it and neither could the mechanic. It was not a quiet noise!It made same noise years ago and I went into RAC Osbourne Park and they fixed it and explained what it was.....no charge.

Great bunch of guys good mechanic and run a clean very efficient workshop.Highly recommend if you need your car looking after, service with a smile ☺.

Can be hit and miss with staff, but generally have found them pretty reliable, albeit a little expensive. But peace of mind d that if you have an issue you have the RAC to fall back on as a whole organisation.

I'm an RAC member and I had to jumpstart my car with my own jumper pack while in the carpark of an RAC Service Centre.I went to get my car battery replaced at the Balcatta service centre. It was still within warranty with RAC after being installed by them less than 2 years ago. I had a docket from another RAC centre confirming that the battery failed the load test (the first RAC centre apparently didn't have the battery needed in stock). I was told at the Balcatta centre that because the battery was installed by a RAC patrol (roadside assist) I would have to go through them to get it replaced. I asked why they couldn't just do it there since it's all RAC and still under warranty but was told that it was a different department. So I was turned away and told to call RAC roadside to deal with it. The battery I had from RAC, obviously being a dud, played up while in their carpark so I had to jumpstart it in front of the service centre because apparently inter-department communication in RAC is so poor that the mechanic centre can't honour the warranty provided by the roadside assist department.If I could give the service centre 0 stars I would, they were quite literally useless.The roadside assistance guy that came out was brilliant, he gets 5 stars.
