Needed a place to stay for the night. I have a camper I tow and use for gold protecting trips. A pleasant night sleep under the stars. Although a windy night it was sheltered here. There are some long term free campers here but Butts reserve is pretty large and I imagine that you will always find a quiet spot here. Be careful of the smooth bark gum trees don't camp underneath ones with long overhanging branches. They can drop limbs making for a very short future. Already be aware camping under large trees. Clean well maintained toilets. Take your own toilet paper just in case. A little bit of gold was my reward.

Big shady trees table and chairs fire pits and flushing toilets. Nice place for camping or a stop over. Very quiet and a few birds and butterflys and there is kangaroos

Back again, this time it doesn’t seem like long term people have taken up resident.Lots of signs everywhere saying no camping, just making it more confusing.

Nice spot very popular though may get a bit over run on long weekends or school holidys .Flushing toilets and close to town .Good access for all vehicles plenty of walks and scenic drives in the area.

Nice big campsite. Bonus thats its free. I went during a long weekend and it was not crowded, it had just enough peopleLots of different spots to camp on. Its even bigger than what you initially see upon arrival because the road keeps going further down.Lots of fire pits. Flushing toilets were OK. Nice walking trails around. You can also walk on a trail to the Tower but it very very rocky

Excellent camp spot, the toilets leave a bit to be desired but otherwise plenty of room with wood fired bbqs-fire pits. 1 mob of 7 kangaroos visit every evening.

Great quiet spot to find an overnight stay. Established fire locations, sloping sites but comfortable. Clean flushing toilets. A few perms but plenty of space available and not a turn-off.

A good spot with plenty of room flushing toilets and well kept by parks vic. A few permanent living there at the time. Maldon very close by.
