I have been coming here for years and it’s still my go-to for takeaway even though I’ve moved away. Undoubtedly the best Indian in Melbourne, I can’t fault any of the food. Lovely family serving mouth-watering reasonably priced food. And best samosas ever!

Lovely food! Slow but that’s okay especially if you are prepared. However have encountered rude service once or twice. If you say you open at 5 but your oven isn’t ready for orders until 5:30, then open at 5:30. Don’t get annoyed with customer wanting to place orders when you say you’re open….

The best lamb Biryani I've ever had. Highly recommended. A must try. The vindaloo was also delicious. Been there a few times both eat in and take away. Still fresh and delicious take away.

This place is average. Been to better North Indian restaurants though with better prices.You order something from the menu and sometimes they don't have it. Funny.

Consistently great food here. Tasty curries - with evidence of real spices, light crunchy Nan, refreshing dips, and Samosas cooked perfectly - not oily. Friendly and efficient service.

Avatar is a GEM. Small husband and wife team so be patient - ring ahead - the food is authentic and high quality.Smells like heaven. Other restaurants have been pretty good but the aromas - oohh the aromas! It's like having your nose transported to a small local eatery outside Delhi.Brilliant Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala and absolutely the best Garlic Naan I've ever had, and that includes Delhi, Jaipur, Raipur, Mumbai.I'm getting hungry thinking about it.
