I love Okami, but today was different, usually the servers are super attentive and sweet but i think i sat and waited for about 20 minutes to not only re-order some food but have my plates cleared.for the hour i was there, all the girls (but one of them) were sitting behind the counter just talking the whole time. not doing anything. so if you were that one girl at okami, running around doing everything the other girls were too lazy to do, i saw and appreciated you!wish they added some more items to the menu, but apart from that it always seems clean and food is good!

Good food, always busy, and whatever is ordered, made fresh to order. If you feel like a nice Japanese and a reasonable, priced buffet, this is the place.

**15% Surcharge for Public Holidays** They let you know before you order so it doesn't come as a surprise when you pay.Took my family here for the first time at a Japanese All You Can Eat.Everything that came out was super delicious and super quick (Dined at 5pm and wasn't at full capacity)The wait staff were able to balance taking our extra orders while clearing plates from other tables.However, portion for the meat servings for 5 people was smaller than I expected. You can see from the photos it's half salad and half meat. I'd visited the Caulfield location with a party of 4 and they'd served a much more generous size in comparison to Caroline Springs.Overall it was good and we would come back again :)

There were four of us sharing the entrees & mains. We each ordered our own separate dessert. Good opportunity to taste several dishes & we took advantage of this. The portions were good & well presented. Value for money. A little noisy, but to be expected as there were many diners, sitting in close proximity. Would recommend as somewhere casual to eat. Service was quick & friendly.

Service and quality has completely gone downhill since it first opened. EXTREMELY slow service. Food takes FOREVER to come to the table. Don't be fooled by 'all you can eat' because there are session times and they kick you out even though it's their staff that are incompetent in bringing out the food in a timely manner. Avoid going in big groups because they seem to avoid serving tables greater than 4 people. Staff do not take away empty plates so it looks like there is still food on the table. Serving sizes are tiny and don't cater for the amount of people on the table. Staff do not write down orders and just 'try' to remember them. Therefore there are alot of things that are ordered that don't come to the table. The staff seem to pick and choose what they bring to the table and in any order that you have ordered it in. You could be sitting there for ages waiting for a dish when it will never arrive. Upon leaving, we heard many other diners complaining about the same issue and were still hungry after their meal. Food was mediocre at best. Some were clearly store brought frozen goods and mushy. Not worth all the hassle!

Edit: We visited this restaurant a second time and it was abysmal. The first waiter literally didn't take down over half or order so we sat without food while everyone around us was served. When he came over he asked if we'd like to order more we told him we still hadn't gotten what we originally ordered so he just walked away. We flagged down another waitress who took the rest of the order they'd originally missed and we received half of that food before the food just stopped coming out. Be warned. The food was good, but what's the point if you're not going to get served any?First review:This place is fantastic. The food is piping hot and fresh, plus it tastes fantastic. The staff are very polite and always ready to take more orders. We tried just about everything on the menu and it was all much better than you'd expect an all you can eat place to be. Highly recommended.

Okami Japanese Restaurant
Ordered a bento box takeaway today and the chicken with sauce was way too salty. Not a very pleasant flavour, every time i took a bite it the saltiness flavour felt too overpowering. The chicken was also difficult to chew on, not tender, and it did not taste that fresh at all. The last time I had this it was fine but this time i'm left with not feeling that great.
