Great Design process, poor customer service following, however. Cost of variations very high and Ecoliv refused to itemise the cost of variations. Ecoliv also refused to supply contract details until all the options were chosen.At final contract there were additional charges never discussed and the 20% uplift in their transport clause I believe to be unreasonable.We stopped the process at this stage after spending a lot of time and money with Ecoliv.If you like their standard design and want no variations then Ecoliv may be the builder of choice.

We are very happy with our new home. The building arrived on time, on budget, and an excellent quality build.There were a couple of small hiccups, which one would expect as our building is fairly remote.

It has been a pleasure to work with Ecoliv to build the eco-friendly modular house that I have always envisioned. Esme and Kristy have been extremely helpful throughout the entire process from our first meeting and the design stage right through to the finished house. It's been almost two years in our Ecoliv house in St Kilda and we still enjoy everything about it. Of course the compliments we keep getting from family, friends and neighbours help with these positive feelings. It is such a well-built house; you realise this even more as time goes on. It's also so reassuring when you get the after-sales back-up: this was evident just recently when a matter needed attention and was managed with a minimum of fuss. It reminded us how much we valued the excellent communication and access we had with all the key people at Ecoliv during the construction stages. We know that dealing with such friendly and professional people contribute so much to this successful outcome.

Working with Ash, Esme, and the design team, at Ecoliv was well coordinated so as to achieve our dream beach home on Phillip Island. In our experience the time, effort, and attention to detail that you put into the design process will be rewarded in the enjoyment of the home that you will be living in. The build went well, with only occasional glitches that are typical of a large build. After-sales support was very good, with calls and emails promptly answered - this is a critical element that is so often overlooked. Overall, very happy with the final product!

Where do we even start to do a review on the journey of building a house!! So much to incorporate in such a small space.It was an incredible and exciting journey from start to finish.From the very first thought of building, to moving into our new home was just under 2 years. Ecoliv were great to deal with all the way through - nothing was too much trouble and the staff are exceptional.Everything flowed smoothly every step of the way from choosing the design of the house, to picking the colour scheme through to our home being delivered on site.Walking in and seeing our home for the first time was the most amazing experience and after living here for 7 months I don’t think there is anything we would do differently.We would definitely recommend Ecoliv as a company to build your dream home!!

So we have an acre of land in Rye and after much consideration we decided to talk to Ecoliv about their 4 bedroom ECO Habitat modular house. As we work from Monday to Friday the same times they are open we contacted them for an appointment on a Saturday to visit their display centre. We simply received an email back saying we need to see them during the week. So the story ends there...

Do your due diligence BEFORE proceeding with Ecoliv.I did not.Red flags appeared not long after signing the initial paperwork, which prompted me to reach out to local builders, tradies/labourers, a local Ecoliv home owner, and an ex-customer of Ecoliv.All said RUN.Ecoliv will no doubt respond with a sleek PR response.But don’t be fooled and nor should you take my word based on my personal experience – my message is simple DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST and speak to the people in the communities in which Ecoliv operate. And I urge you to speak to Ecoliv home owners to ask them details about their experience with Ecoliv over a longer period of time. (My unfortunate experience only lasted a few months).They are not deserving of the min one star above.

My new Ecoliv home has been a great place to live through the winter. Now as we begin a dry hot summer I appreciate the insulating and double glazed doors and windows. Situated in a regional area, with a NSW state forest close by, the home’s bushfire rating gives some hope, that with luck, it might be a safe place as we move into precarious times. In retrospect, I would have been wise to ask more questions about the build and the delivery which happened a bit like magic. Pete
