Halfmoon Hideaway

Wow… where do we begin. We hosted our wedding at Halfmoon Hideaway and couldn’t fault anything. The gorgeous property sold us originally, but Gillian made the stay absolutely perfect. The delicious hamper and fridge stocked with goodies, the fresh flowers in every room, even the lollipops on each bedside table. Those tiny details you wouldn’t think of - were the details we will never forget! Thanks Gillian.

WOW! my Husband and I were lucky enough to be married here a few days ago on the deck, next to the fireplace of owner Gillians home. There is so much to say about this amazing venue and the couple who own it, but from a brides perspective, this venue is an absolute dream.Owner Gillian is genuinely one of the most incredible women my husband and I have ever met. She has the most warm, kind, gentle nature, she and her husband made us feel so welcomed within their home. When it came time for the wedding planning there was absolutely nothing that Gillian couldnt do for us. She made the entire experience so fun and EASY!My husband Ed and i were lucky enough to spend 3 nights in the cottage at halfmoon hideaway which was our idea of a dream land! Gillian made so many personal touches for us and even included all of the ingredients for us to make an english breakfast on our wedding morning! (my husband is english) along with an entire bottle of tawny, chocolates apon chocolates, a fruit basket, chippys, hot choccy and marshmallows, bath bombs, and even fire wood for the deck fire pit! When i tell you that Gillian is So thoughtful, she even left our a doggy blanket and iced pink doggy cookies for my husbands dog who was supposed to have joined us. HOW AMAZING!!!!!!when the big day finally rolled around for us, we had planned to have our ceremony in their garden under their gorgeous big tree next to their duck ponds. However the weather had other plans and the rain was pouring down! but to tell you the truth, IM GLAD!! Gillian wasted no time in clearing the deck of her home, setting up 35 chairs, lighting a wood fire and creating the PERFECT ceremony for us to enjoy in the cold weather with her two cats, George & Edgar. The energy was warm, cozy, intimate, and everything i wanted it to be. My wedding day was an absolute dream, I didnt need to worry about a single thing, and I got to marry my best friend in the amazing home of a wonderful woman surrounded by everybody that i love.my husband and i will be returning to halfmoon hideaway for our anniversaries to come, and hope to see Gillian, her husband, George, & Edgar then!thankyou both so much for making our day so perfect!Love Ed and Amy xxxx

Simply amazing. Gillian made us feel so welcomed and relaxed after a long trip and the nerves building up to our wedding. The cottage was gorgeous, the views stunning, and all the beautiful animals made it perfect. It was all the little things that just made it the destination and our special day went perfectly, Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous outlook. Beautiful animals and wonderful people. Fantastic spot for a wedding. The cottage is so well appointed and everything has been thought of. A must for a quiet weekend away where your fur babies are just as welcome as your human ones. Nothing is too much trouble for Gillian. Don't go past this place!

A month a ago we had our wedding at Halfmoon Hideaway! It was absolutely perfect and Gillian is the most accommodating person, and so friendly. The views are spectacular and the little personal touches make it feel like you are old friends staying the night. She thinks of everything, including toys for our little one to play with. It was the absolute best choice we made for our wedding and were able to use it as a blank canvas and build the wedding of our dreams. Absolutely gorgeous xx

We just came back from our three days getaway for Valentine's Day, and it was A-MA-ZING!! I don't know where to start, as everything was spot on. The cabin itself is wonderful: sparkling clean, spacious deck with hammock and lots of space to chill and relax, cozy fireplace, super comfortable bed and linen, breathtaking view on the mountains, jacuzzi, even the towels and robes, fresh(!!) flowers - seriously! every single detail is about quality and high end service! But what really blew us away - were the hampers full of yummy local food that made us feel so special and welcomed. The attention to details is incredible. Gillian, the host, is very nice and friendly, she does an incredible job running this place. We can't recommend it highly enough. Just come and enjoy your stay like we did.

We ( myself, James and our two beautiful dogs Carly and Tina) just left today. It was Tina's 3rd birthday and our furry girls were just as welcome as we were. Gillian and all her furry friends are so kind and, although we kept to ourselves, made us feel so comfortable and their help was there if we needed anything. The weather was overcast but definitely did not dampen our time. We were up in the clouds!! As we figured out from our stay' half moon hideaway' is such an apt name as we were among the clouds, moon and stars. As close to heaven as you can get!! We rate it a million stars... All the stars we couldn't see cause of the weather on the day, but you know they are there, working their magic. We recently got married at Halfmoon Hideaway and if ever there was 'heaven on earth' we found it!!!We arrived on the Monday to a warm, candle lit cottage with the most incredible hamper. Gillian our host was brilliant, nothing was a hassle, it was like visiting good friends ❤️ The week felt like a wedding and honeymoon all in one. Thankyou Julian and Gillian for your faultless hospitality! 5 stars does not seem to do this magnificent place justice. We will be back before our anniversary, if we can get in lol

Recently we had a night at this spectacular hideaway. Gillian was fantastic and really went out of her way to make sure our stay was special. It was the most relaxed we have been for a long time. We have been to a few B & B's and this wins hands down. Fantastic views. Just perfect. We will definitely be going back for some R n R.Thanks again GillianIan and Sharon.
