Great place to stop and understand how the history of restocking trout into the Australian rivers for fishermen. The tour ($5) also give you a 6 minute video + you get to feed the fish. Well worth a visit just to grab some smoked trout!

Opened for visitors this week and already had a few visitors. It’s $5.00 per Adult and $2.50 for children. Large Bag of fish food is $1.50. We watched an introduction video which is really interesting. We then looked around a small display of aquariums on our way out to the tanks. There are different tanks of trout seperate by ages, the trout went nuts for the food. We then strolled through the hatching area. We bought smoked trout which were packaged in a few 100 grams, however it is $67.50 per kilo. Well worth visit.

One of the highlights of our trip. Well worth the visit for a slightly more interactive experience after you’ve seen all the natural sights around. $5 entry for an adult (in a self-guided tour but the staff will always pop up for a quick chat and speak to you about the trout). Would recommend grabbing a bag or two of fish food as there’s plenty of fishes of all sizes to feed. Was plenty of fun, even for the adults!Staff are very friendly, passionate knowledgeable and helpful! Rowan was fantastic, letting us know about the programs, talking through the stages at the hatchery and providing us lots of fun stories in between.Grab some smoked salmon on your way out too - recommend the traditional smoked and the lemon bush pepper which has won awards!!

Amazing value for money compared to other hatcheries we've visited around Australia. Sure there's no cafe and glitzy souvenir shop but if you are here to find out about trout and want to see some prime specimens going absolutely berserk over the feed you have thrown in their pond (there are several ponds) then this is the place to visit. Ranger Stacey is very passionate about her fish family and was a fountain of knowledge. Great family orientated facility!
