the city has died! terrible, homeless, dirty streets, exorbitant parking prices, roaming parking inspectors to pounce on 30sec to go....

I'm a local and like to support local businesses. But driving to Freo on a Wednesday night for dinner and having to pay $6 for parking is ridiculous! Monday-Thursday from 5pm-1am should be free. Otherwise people will instead eat elsewhere. The streets were dead so it's not like the demand is there on a weeknight to money grab!

Ok as a visitor to Fremantle the Issue was parking fine but as soon as I took up the issue the person who handled my queries was most helpful, polite and very professional ... very happy with her response.

So many people comment about the scarcity of parking in Fremantle so why does the council intend to suspend the CAT bus service?I wont be driving into town

the worst WORST customer service I have ever experienced.I called them up as I was staying at the Hougoumont Fremantle and asked where the cheapest place in Fremantle is to park over night and they suggested Collie Street multi storey would be around $12. The hotel parking was $25 so we decided to go with what they suggestedThe next day we leave at 9am TO FIND WE WERE CHARGED $40 FOR PARKING!!!!!!!!!!!I was obviously FURIOUS as the COUNCIL advised us to park there as it was cheaper. I contacted them and they didn't get back to me so a week later I had to CHASE THEM UP and just got sorry we don't own that parking lot we can't reimburse you"? yet they gave us the wrong information? no duty of care WHAT SO EVER so appalling. I am honestly still in shock and so disgusted at how they have treated this situation."

Yesterday 21st of January I emailed the City of Fremantle Planning Department regarding a property I was considering purchasing. I received a very quick, friendly & detailed response from a female employee (apologies name unknown ext 916). I was impressed by the service provided. Good work COF.

Heads in the sand about my complaint and our safety. My partner and I drove into Fremantle to go to the Esplanade for fish and chips on Wednesday 18th March around 11.40am.We parked up alongside the Esplanade Park and continue to walk along the main path towards the fishing boat harbour, as we approached the main Esplanade public toilets there were 2 people standing right in the middle off the path in front of the toilets, I assume they were waiting for somebody in the toilet, as my partner and myself moved to left-hand side we approached the front of the male toilets, my partner tripped on the raised concrete ramp in front of the male toilets, I was right next to her she fell very hard on her hands and knees and was very lucky not to hit her face on the ground only to be stopped by her hands. She did some damage to her hands and knees as the picture obviously show. Now this is a quite serious situation of a raised bit of concrete on a main walkway that is not very visible to the eye, this is absolutely disgusting how this has happened to my wife, this problem area definitely needs to be rectifying ASAP before somebody is seriously hurt, this incident absolutely ruined our whole day, now logic would tell me that a raised concrete area like this should be painted on the sides so it's more visible to the eye? After initially making my complaint it took over 20 day to get a response and that only happened when I rang several times and demanded a response, or I wouldn't have heard anything whatsoever.Fremantle city council did not take this complaint serious, as outlined in there action plan to deal with complaints. All we wanted was our complaint to be heard, taken seriously and an apology and we would of left it at that and moved on with all this. This has definitely left a sour taste in our mouth with the incompetence of this council's lack of dealing with the seriousness of this complaint or even acknowledging it?Just an update we were blocked here and they said the uneven surface was going to be fixed, but we drove past the other day and nothing has been done, I'm going to get some legal advice on this.
