Recently went on a Lady Elliot Is retreat with Pure Breath and was so thrilled by the experience. From a very well organised itinerary, kind and patient instructors who were generous with their time and experience, and an absolutely incredible location, it couldn't have been better. Especially loved the morning yoga inclusion and the opportunity to 'mermaid' in the most pristine and thriving coral reefs. If freediving with manta isn't on your bucket list, it should be. Thank you, John, for creating such an incredible trip and helping me reach my Padi Advanced Freediver level. I have so many memories to treasure.

This course taught me much more than just hold my breath longer and dive deeper, it’s about the connection you have with the environment, the different world that is underwater, you learn how to deal with you mind and make it sharper, how to remain calm and relaxed. Knowing how to have a deep breath and relax your mind is a very important skill in or out of the water. John is a very good and qualified teacher as well a beautiful person, always watchful of the details. I am thankful for everything I have learned as well as the friendship.

Had a great weekending completing my PADI freediving course with UAA. John was a great instructor, very knowledgeable and patient. Not only did we learn heaps and progress our skills but also had fun. I look forward to more dives with UAA to come!

My 14 year old daughter just completed her scuba course with John, and loved it.John was very patient, understanding and made her feel extremely comfortable, so much so that she even starting joking with him, something she rarely is comfortable doing with people she doesn't know.I highly recommend John for all your diving needs.

Had an absolute blast on the yoga & freediving retreat! All the instructors were super nice and understanding of the different skill levels within the group. They were very accommodating and always checking in to see if we were comfortable with the course or in general. More importantly, they wanted everyone to have a great time, and getting the certification is just the icing on top. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience! I will definitely come back to you guys for another trip or my Advanced :)

I just received my PADI freediver certificate.John walked me step by step through the course, checking in with me at every stage. Did I understand? Was I comfortable? Did I have any questions? With his patient and gentle nature and his consummate professionalism, I felt safe and supported both physically and mentally at all times.He has opened my eyes and my heart to freediving, the beauty below the surface and the wonders of what the human body is capable of.I can not recommend highly enough.Thankyou John, for an experience I will never forget!

Wow, I am so overwhelmed with experience our 12 son had today with UAA. John was amazing, going over everything with Jack before he entered the water and making sure he was feeling safe, comfortable and reassured him. He really spoke to him at his level and not as an adult talking to kid. John was happy to answer any of Jacks questions and explained them in depth.He loved this experience so much that he is now going to complete his open water drive course with John. I cannot recommend UAA highly enough.

I cannot speak highly enough of UAA and, specifically, John.I did my ReActivate PADI course with John after being out of the water for 18months. John was good fun, relaxed but also incredibly professional and prioritised safety. He is evidently a very skilful diver with great knowledge about beautiful local sites.John also demonstrated a deep passion for protecting marine life; explaining local species and collecting underwater rubbish as we went along. He took photos of our dive which he promptly sent me to, documenting our encounter with ‘Loz’ the Turtle!If you are looking for a professional but personable diving instructor with a passion for the ocean, look no further.
