Gordonvale Rest Area

We liked this place, however cleaning was a bit slack. No hot water, two blocked toilets.

Stayed a couple of nights @ free camp in Gordonvale Qld called Greenpatch Reserve ( New amenities)Great little bowling club 4 minutes walk at back of campground. Great atmosphere Cold beer and barefoot bowls on Friday Nights with BBQ ....check it out

What a fantastic free 72 hour campsite. Toilets and free cold showers, or $2 for 4 minutes of hot water. Facilities to wash dishes, a dump point and plenty of bins that are emptied daily. There are cctv cameras and the police regularly patrol through the campsite, so make sure you obey the rules, which are all very fair. There are some nice walks to do around the campsite and you can easily walk to the pubs and other services in Gordonvale, by following the concrete path across the creek at the back of the campsite. The hotels courtesy bus will also come and pick you up and take you back if you give them a ring. There is one small area next to the red topped bins which is day use only but plenty of campsites and even tents are well catered for. A very popular campsite and rightly so.

A really well setup and clean rest area to spend upto 3 nights. The toilet and shower block is large and there is plenty of shaded parking spots.

We camped here for 2 nights, with van repairs needed in Cairns. It was fantastic! Clean, quiet ish and really shady. Thankyou QLD local government! In our campervan, we spends lots in towns as we drive and enjoy!

Great little overnight stop in. Nice easy access from the highway, clean camp area with tidy amenities. Cold showers are free or $1 a minute for hot water. We will be back!
