Twin Lakes - Bush Retreat & Fly Fishery

Twin lakes is an unbelievable spot. A great retreat for fishing and relaxing. Bryan is a superb host with a great sense of humour. Very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this location. Thanks Bryan.

a trip to this place you will not forget

My partner and I stayed in monty's cottage and were amazed by the secluded nature of The house, it was such a perfect getaway for us. Bryan also has the patience of a saint as he taught both of us how to flyfish and against the odds even helped us catch a few trout each. My partner hasn't stopped talking about it since we left.

We were looking for some fly fishing lessons and called Twin Lakes. Bryan was more than accommodating, a great bloke to talk to and very informative about fly fishing. He had us casting before we knew it. We even had a lesson on how to make fly lures. We caught two trout which were a bonus. Would definitely recommend this beautiful part of the world if your interested in catching a trout. You can even stay and play.

We stayed in Monty's Lakeside Cottage.Freezing beyond comfort, the cold kept us awake at night, and the fireplace (only heat source) proved very ineffective (and doesn't reach the rooms at all).We kept the fireplace running for hours, but it is old and does not have a ventilation system. It kept the air near the fireplace warm, and nothing more.Location is in the middle of nowhere, requires a long ride in dirt roads.Listing stated that there was a bathtub, but it was out of order and seems to have been this way for a while.I guess it could be nice to come here in the summer, and the lake view is very nice.However, we didn't come in the summer, and the stay was unbearable for us, so I have to give 1 star.Stay away from during winter time, or bring your own heated blankets or something...

Superb weekend on the retreat - my first shoot was something i'll remember forever.Learning how to cast and spot the trout on the lake, will be a skill i'll continue to build on and look forward to pursuing further.All thanks to the wonderful Hosts (Brian and Ange), and the other members on the weekend - good company, great food and an overall enjoyable experience. Hope to return soon!
