Steep Point
Best place for camping, 4WD and fishing. The roads are so tough and rough. I just felt like all the bolts are losing but it was fun. Definitely go back again:)

Stayed at shelter bay near steep point. Sandy beach, calm water, no facilities other than a few long drop toilets. Great fishing. The track in gets brutal after the useless loop mine site turn off. Would recommend letting your tyres down here if you haven’t already. Then again when you get to the start of the Sandy hill climbs.

Experience complete isolation in the North West. Go for the peacefulness and serenity of the amazing views or get super charged up with spectacular fishing either way don’t miss out on this bucket list trip of a lifetime.

Steep point itself is incredible. The water is crystal clear and like a fairytale. We wished we had of thought ahead and actually camped out on the beach for a couple nights because it would have been phenomenal!Yes, the entire drive (3hrs) in is heavily corrugated, but i would definitely say well worth the time in the car

You'll need a 4WD with good clearance to get here. The drive can be arduous however, it's worth every bit. I came up the east side and returned the western side. There's so many corrugations to deal with so be prepared. You'll also need a compressor because you will need to let your tyre pressures down. I ran 20psi today and had no issues.Anyway, the views are breathtaking every bit of cliff is stunning.

Signposted location for the most Westerly point on the Australian mainland. After taking the obvious photos at the sign, go to the left and find the hole in the cliff line - this is truly a window on the world - wonderful place to pause and reflect.

Amazing place ! Not a difficult ride at all , I thought that would be really difficult but not a lot of bumps during the road be careful about that I broke my roof rack ,You got a Sandy climb that it nothing to worry about it , but keep the momentum going. I reckon on summer is more difficult as it was wet when I went .I was expecting a difficult road but not easy easy , we camping on step point a bit windy but amazing view

Great drive for 4wd vehicles - bumpy, sandy and scenic! We saw emus, kangaroos and 6 snakes, so there's plenty of wildlife. Some amazing designated campsites along beach with clean drop loos. It's a long drive but you have to have a go, you can't miss out on seeing the Western most point of the mainland. Just make sure to drop your tyre pressure, take some Max trax and a shovel for just in case.
