Beautiful, historical place. renovated but with the old seats.

need some cleaning. council dont come and do work or what?

It’s a great venue but I’d think twice about hiring a hall when they can just turn around two weeks before the event and say “we need the hall for something else” (May 2022) Or “we overbooked..oops” (May 2021). To say this is not good business practice is an understatement and has impacted a lot of small businesses.

Cold. Turned heaters off halfway through service. Where's the compassion?

Coburg Town Hall is a quite plain building set only slightly back from extremely busy Bell Street, and close to equally busy Sydney road. I've been here a couple of times for various events and it's varied from fairly plain and basic to quite posh and flashy depending I suppose on how much the function I was attending spends on decorations etc. There is an extremely small entrance foyer with a room to the side that is also used for the pre-dinner part of the event as long as their is less than 100 or so people. The main hall is high roofed and again very plain with polished wooden floors and a balcony level looking out onto a substantial raised stage. There is no parking available, you need to walk around the back of the complex and street park next to the old Pentridge Gaol.

Great venue, spacious hall, and nice old architecture. Convenient weekend parking (although read the signs and be aware of the nearby farmers market on Saturday mornings).
