Longworth House Function Venue
This venue is rich in period charm. The property both shows it's age and gracefully provides modern conveniences. It is very clean and beautifully furnished.Very importantly, the staff are superb. Our function was overseen by Adam who managed welcomes, timing and absolutely everything else with competence and friendliness that added to the whole experience. (It was a wedding.)The food was well served, hot and fresh and very testy. The wait staff were efficient and courteous.Just be aware that some people may have difficulty with the stairs. If this is not an issue for you then make a booking because this venue is highly recommended.

The food, atmosphere, staff and owner are all incredible. Go for the 8 course banquet you will not regret it. It's very well priced, delicious and a perfect amount of food. Very modern yet extremely warm and comfortable.

Great ambiance but serving size was NOT generous and the espresso martini was thin and average. Our charcuterie platter had about six thin slices of salami. Service was weird - the guy was way too eager to clear the table when it was obvious we haven't finished eating! It was like a compulsive disorder - he removed my wine glass when it was clear I was still drinking. We left the place not quite entirely happy with the food and service. Won't be rushing to go back.

Excellent food. Excellent cocktails. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere and decor. Would recommend for couples or small groups (up to eight people)

Surroundings are stylish. No question.Pragmatism by the mangeress is not in keeping with the welcoming nature of other nearby venues, withou offending any RSA obligations. Nor did she show a realistic assessment of enhancing the income of the owners from a benign group of happy senior citizens.Poor engagement by staff and visibility of the limited offering of beverages was out of step with what this venue could have offered.Don't disturb the dust on this relic!

Tried a walk in here with a bunch of friends for their engagement (12 in total), on a Saturday night. Security let us in and we continued in to the lower bar.The place was next to empty with approx 7 patrons seated. With 4 staff working we were refused service. The female hostess not providing an real rational for refusal and wasn't very tactful in approach.Very disappointing experience, hope this wasn't due to a few friends being of a different minority.

Having performed many wedding ceremonies at the spectacular Longworth House I have seen personally the dedication of Rowanne and her team in making sure every guest receives an experience like no other. Longworth House truly is a gem of Newcastle that oozes style, class and a uniqueness all of its own. If you are looking for a reception venue you must put Longworth House on your list. I can't recommend this venue highly enough. Without question Rowanne will ensure your wedding will be remembered for all the right reasons!

Longworth House Function Venue
I was here for a friend’s 60th Birthday function. The food was amazing and plentiful. The staff kept bringing out the delicious morsels of food throughout the night. Not like other functions and cocktail weddings I’ve attended.Would definitively recommend coming here to eat, or having your function here.
