Pet Emergency
I can't recommend these guys enough, they saved my German Shepherd who got bloat. After his surgery he had to stay with them for a couple of days and they took such good care of him, so much so I don't think he wanted to come home hehe They kept us posted of how he was going a couple times a day, which was so reassuring. The staff here are amazing, hopefully we don't need to go back for another pet emergency but if we had to I wouldn't have any hesitation in bringing my fur babies there. So a big thank you to the staff, you are absolute champions :)

Pet Emergency
My daughter took her cat in the the North Lakes Emergency Vet on Monday night at approximately 10.15pm. He was suffering a bladder blockage from struvite crystals. She was given 2 options that cost either $900 or a price of $3000-$4000. Due to financial restraints she chose the $900 option which included sedating him and removing the crystals via catheterisation. At approximately 1.15am she collected her cat and was told that the crystals had been removed, his bloods came back fine. She was given medication and was told in 2 days to have a check-up with her normal vet. She paid the $900 and left. On Tuesday after noticing that the cat still hadn't urinated, she called the practice and was told to wait 24 hours as it can take that long for things to get back to normal. That same afternoon I called after the cat has still not urinated and asked them to explain what they did. The lady told me that they had removed the crystals and again stated that we needed to wait 24 hours. On Wednesday morning the cat has still not urinated and there was blood all over the puppy pad in the crate. Another call was made to North Lakes vet and my daughter was told to bring him back and was again quoted $3k-$4k. I called my vet who was more than accommodating and quoted approximately $1400 and with a bladder full of blood. So it seems that he is in worse condition than he went in and at a cost of $900 for nothing!!!!!

I ran over my 16 year old, 3 legged, blind, def toy poodle last night (size of a Chihuahua) In my Ranger 4wd. We took her to this vet and they recommended get. X-ray, pain relief, ulturasound. We got this done and was told nothing was found and was recommended to keep her in over-night. So we decided to keep her at vet. Rang this morning. She has a massive fracture on her spin that my 5 year old could have spotted and in excruciating pain. We are now getting her put down. Disgusting professional Help from a certified Vet over night. Our little Lily suffered all night because of this vets incompetence. She went out in the worst way possible. Just for what I see a cash grab disgusting PROFESSIONAL help. The DOCTOR as they call themselves, persisted to tell me that she started at 5 am this morning and didn’t know anything about it.In other words, their standard operating procedures were not followed. No hand over!

We have spent an absolute fortune here over the past year on saving our dogs life twice. I can honestly say it is worth every penny.Everyone here are caring, sympathetic, empathetic and excellent at their job. They looked after our dog like he was their own. Everyone got to know him or of him and as much as he hates leaving us for a stay there. I think he loves them too.We rest easy knowing he is in the best hands and getting THE very best of care.Highly recommend this place. This is him 2 days after major surgery.

I appreciate that this vet practice treated my pooch and without this intervention the outcome would have been grim. What i don't appreciate, is their exorbitant charges. I don't know how they can charge three to four times more for an equivalent service. How do I know? Well unfortunately my furry girl decided to swallow a hand towel twice within two months, which lodged in her stomach and small intestine. North Lakes Pet Emergency charged approximately $7500 for surgery and associated care (which included 2 nights overnight stay) on the first occasion . On the second occasion and faced with the dilemma of having to find the money again (upfront) and likely exceed my pet insurance limit, I found an alternative veterinary practice that could operate for an approximate cost of $1750. The alternative veterinary practice does not provide overnight care, however they provided instructions for IV therapy (fluids) post surgery and five different discharge medications, including oral antibiotics. This practice kept in close contact over the days following the surgery. On discharge from North Lakes Pet Emergency, I was provided with some paracetamol tablets and asked to return in a fortnight to have sutures removed (which I did). I feel my furry girl has recovered faster after surgery on the second occasion and allowing her to come home on the same day (after surgery) and being in her familiar 'home' environment, may have attributed to this.

My Labrador was seen quickly after she ingested human medicine. The vet and vet nurse where very caring and professional, and gave me options on my dogs treatment. It is more expensive than a normal vet, but that is to be expected as it is a after hours emergency clinic.

I had a great experience here! As every pet owner would want, we always want the best care for our sick little animals and I definitely received that today! My little dachshund was very sick and we could not get into a regular vet. A very anxious time for myself as we don’t venture out to new vets and we stick with what we know. However, in this instance we needed to get little Frankie seen. I was greeted by the lovely ladies at the desk who were very comforting and after a little wait Frankie was seen and given some medication to make him feel much better. We are now at home resting and I have my happy pup again!

Heartfelt thank you to vets & staff who assisted our beloved pet, Charlie cross over from heart failure. 22/04/23He was in final stages of horrendous Mitral Valve disease that Cavalier dogs are susceptible to.Their prompt, compassionate & professional assistance was outstanding, for our late night emergency. Whilst they did everything possible to save Charlie, sadly his little body could take no more.Very upsetting time for any pet owner - however their reassurance & empathy was enormously appreciated.

We had excellent care provided by Dr Kate and Dr Remon with the care of our dog Dyson. Sadly his diagnosis was bleak and surgery wasn’t in his best interests.A devastating time for us but the service from this team at Pet Emergency was outstanding. We wanted to thank the team for their outstanding care throughout this devastating ordeal. Thanks everyone, we do appreciate what you have done for us and Dyson also

Yes they helped save my cat but they were just as ready to put it down on a suspected MVA though he didn't show the typical signs of MVA.The level of cleanliness was wow: consult room was so smelly with dry blood marks on the floor. Cat had been there for not even 24 hours and came back smelling so bad. He's injured so we can't shower / bathe him as we don't want to cause more trauma but the smell in his fur is gag worthy. Old dog drool smell. So obviously the level of cleanliness in the pet care area is much worse then that of the consult rooms. They aren't cheap and are super busy. How about you guys invest in a cleaner or 3 to keep the place hygienic. So smelly and gross I feel sorry for my cat with their sense of smell. Also, cat was taken in by public due to suspected motor vehicle accident. The vet I spoke to was leaning towards euthanizing as they didn't know level of injury. Cost of keeping him there overnight with scans would cost $2K - $2.5K, and if fractures found they would not be releasing to take home,, I'd have to agree to treatment costing $4K+ or put down. And no, I couldn't take him home before scans, or if it came back showing fractures. It was pay for scan or euthanize.I could see he was very lucid and euthanizing without knowing full extent of injuries didn't sit well with me so borrowed money and got the scans. Thankfully to find out only minor fracture at jaw joint but ok to be released. He's recovering very speedly at home.Including photos to demonstrate how he was practically clear of any signs indicating MCA except for injury on jaw. Any trained vet should have been able to see he did not exhibit signs of MVA to suggest being put down if I didn't borrow $2,500 to cover scans and overnight stay. They said he's got what appeared to be a tyre mark over his back! I corrected them and said he gets under my car and the black mark on his back is from that,, then they later said: he's sat up and changed positions. Would a run over cat do that?1st image is of him when he was taken there with suspected MVA as he was found huddling near some rocks. Next 3 images are after he's been administered methadone. The wrap on his leg was for IV.Lastly, when I didn't have the transaction limit on my dad's card to clear the balance of the bill the next day I rang and asked if possible to get an invoice, and I was told they can't do that as the vet could lose its licence. I had to call around and borrow money to cover the $300 shortfall.Untrustworthy vets with dirty practice, on so many levels.
