Wow what a meal i havent eaten a steak like that in quite a while. It was cooked perfect had amazing flavour. Staff are friendly and amazing. When ever i get asked where to eat in ballarat The North Star hotel will he at the top of my recomendation list. Cant wait to eat here again

Used to be heaps better in service & food. A lot of staff seem to stand around another and talk. I ordered a coke and could see the bar from the table. Four staff stood there laughing & talking. Then my drink was made and sat on the bar for ages. Need to improve.

We arrived at the Northern star hotel after a massive traveling day 9 hours in the car with our 2 teenager boys . We where all very tired and hungry to say the least. We had restraunt meals and beverages for tea . The chicken snitzal Parmaganas where the best we have ever had , and also the lamb shank which the meat was so tender it literally fell off the bone was also absolutely amazing. The food after ordering was very fast and The service in the restaurant by Emma our waitress was outstanding, she was very cheerful, polite and her caring proffesional nature was the best. She is a absolute asset to this establishment , we can't speak highly enough about her. AAAA+++.The rooms where very clean and tidy and beds where so comfortable. Also the security using electronic card only access to building and rooms is reassuring. We will definitely be back and will tell all how awesome this establishment is. Had dinner there last night (24/6/23) in a group of 6. Hadn’t been to the North Star for some time and the fit out & set up are really nice. Great beer selection on tap in Schooners and Pints with lots of other drinks choices. Men is a typical pub menu with nothing unexpected. I had the Scotch Fillet with pepper sauce, chips and salad. Steak was great, cooked how I requested, sauce could have done with a more peppery zing. Too much salad on the plate for my taste but overall it was a very good meal. All other meals were good and received positive comments. It was really busy so on the busy nights booking would be advisable! I recommend it and would definitely return.

Went here for friends 40th, meals were quick out and were definitely filling, but weren't really that tasty. The pub itself is clean and modern, it was a nice night out. I'd give another half star.

We go here regularly despite other options in the area. Harry is very helpful and has the best taste in music ... its his playlist on the background speakers.
